In Manchester FA's Womens Summer League Beechfield United Ladies played the third in a series of six games against neighbours Moordide Rangers Ladies
As expected the match was a keennly contested with both teams fully determined to win this local derby. As played flowed rapidly from end to end there was some great defending from Crystal Gemma and Shauna plus keeper Briony that denied Rangers the chance of an early lead
In reply Beechy quickly put the pressure back onto their opponents and Faye Gillian and Sophie had efforts on target but they failed to beat the Rangers keeper who was in top form so it remained 0-0 at half time
The second half produced a similar pattern with both teams continually creating some quailty football and both Managers constanly used the roll on roll off substitution rule to try and gain advantage in the game .With seven minutes to go Beechy finally broke the deadlock when following one of the numerous corners they had won in the game the ball reached the alert figure of Crystal who hammered the ball past the keeper
Moorside immediately subbed their keeper who came out and played on the left who and within two minutes scored ther goal forcing the ball over the line from a corner on the right
In the final minutr Beechy where denied what would have been the winning goal when Rangers keeper who played for Beechy last season tipped a great shot over the bar
