Producing a superb all-round performance Beechfield United Under 17’s dominated their away game against Radcliffe Town Blues and won this North Bury League fixture 8-0. Despite a badly rutted pitch the Beechy lads still managed to create some brilliant football and held a 4-0 lead at the interval. Goalkeeper Kyle Garner was virtually a spectator throughout the contest and four more goals in the second half eventually guaranteed United three easy points. Ross Wakefield (Hat-Trick) Man of the Match Malik Abdulgabar (2) Jack Davies (2) and Sam Bolton got the goals.

The Under 16’s who have recently hit a rich vein of form in the Timperley and District Junior League moved up to fourth place in the Division 3 table following a 2-0 away win over Irlam Rangers. Bradley Wheeler scored both goals while Harry Davis who had a superb first half on the right wing then did a great job at right back in the second period was an automatic choice for the Man of the Match Award.

In the Manchester FA Youth Cup the Under 15’s Predators produced a below-par display in their semi-final tie with Failsworth Dynamos Blues and failed to reach the final after a 3-0 defeat. Making a strong start Failsworth Dynamos forced some brave defending from United’s back four and both Anjola Onasanya and Henry Bonynge made several vital ball winning tackles while keeper Kieron McCarthy was constantly involved in the opening quarter-hour. Dylan Meredith had a chance to give Beechy the lead but his header went wide of the target following a free kick. Throughout a goalless first half United’s overall performance failed to improve but they were denied a clear-cut penalty after a foul on Robert Boardman. A similar pattern developed in the second half as Beechy continued to struggle against their opponents aerial power and they faced a tough challenge when Failsworth Dynamos scored twice within a four minute spell. Briefly Beechy threatened to find a way past a well-disciplined Dynamos defence but any hopes of a late comeback faded when United conceded a third goal.

For the second successive Saturday the Under 15’s Tornadoes played local rivals Moorside Rangers Blues. This time the teams met at Stott Lane Playing Fields for a Section C fixture in the Bolton Bury and District League and the Tornadoes came out on top again courtesy of a 3-2 victory. Joseph Furlong was United’s goalscoring hero with a hat-trick.

Also suffering a defeat in the semi-finals of the Manchester FA Youth Cup were the Under 12’s Storm (9v9) who lost 6-1 at home to a very good and well organised Sale United Lions outfit. The first half was closely contested with both teams creating numerous easy chances but it was Sale United who took the lead. The Storm fought back and equalised from a well taken free kick which was met by Harry Gartley who’s header beat the keeper. The second half produced a different story as Sale United dominated the tie and secured a comfortable victory in the end. George Moorhouse was United’s Man of the Match.

Playing at Beech Farm for the first time since November 2015 were the Under 11’s Thunder (9v9) who met neighbours Moorside Rangers Green in the Supplementary Cup. There were chances for both teams but Beechy were more clinical and were two goals ahead at half time courtesy of Sebastian Higson and Prince Idusuyi. During the second period United continued to put pressure on their opponents and took full control of the tie. Samuel Oludoyi and Jake O’Sullivan netted further goals and the Thunder’s goalkeeper Reiss Miller impressed with a solid display. United have rightly booked their place on finals day at Ayrshire Road.

Goals by Man of the Match Sam Jones, Ronan Courtney and Alan Kay (Hat-Trick) guaranteed the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) a fully deserved victory over Manchester Maccabi Vipers at Bury/Whitefield school. This was the Tornadoes latest match in the Supplementary Tournament.

On the 3G Astroturf Pitch at Salford Sports Village Beechy Under 11’s Storm (9v9) were in action against Moston Tigers. In the Supplementary Tournament the teams shared four goals after the allotted thirty minutes each way with goals for the Storm from Alex Vanden and Man of the Match Luke Carr. But United eventually won the tie following a penalty shoot-out.

In the Supplementary Tournament the Under 10’s Tornadoes had an early kick off for their away game against Moorside Rangers Yellow. On a small Astroturf Pitch the match proved to be an exciting end to end encounter. Both defences worked hard and Jack Fitton and Harley Davidson dealt comfortably with most attacks by Rangers. Theo Valentine was constantly involved and Oliver Lomas, Charlie Mulvenna and Adam Wood were always prepared to drop back and defend. Man of the Match went to new keeper Lewis Wallis who displayed terrific bravery when making two great saves in a one on one situation.

On Sunday morning the Under 10’s Storm were away to South Manchester in the Supplementary Tournament. After a tight first half Beechy were a goal down at the break but playing some first-class soccer on a 3G Astro Pitch United drew level thanks to Ben Delaney. Despite their efforts the Storm conceded a second goal two minutes before the final whistle. The teams Best Player was Oliver Lawton.

Extending their highly impressive unbeaten run to fourteen games were the Under 9’s Hurricanes. At home to De La Salle Red in the Supplementary Cup United controlled the match and only conceded goals when they made changes to their defence. On target were James Taylor, Tom Worthington, Dominic Roaden, Josh Clough and Oliver Coles. Sharing the Man of the Match Award were Josh Clough and Dominic Roaden.

Showing real grit and determination against a very tough Streford Victoria side were the Under 9’s Typhoon. Sonny O’Brien added to his list of spectacular goals, Harley Bentley scored from the penalty spot and goalkeeper Peter Ellis acrobatically saved a penalty but following a superb performance at the heart of the defence Harry Davies received the Man of the Match Accolade.

United’s Under 9’s Lightning arranged a friendly match with a Prestwich FC team. Man of the Match was Lucas Wood and on target with the goals were Sam Henderson, Demi Jones plus an own goal.

Away to Winton Wanderers in the Development Group Yellow Division the Under 8’s Hurricanes produced a fine all-round display and celebrated a fully deserved victory. There was a hat-trick for Man of the Match Coby McCormack plus two goals from Jayden Walker.

There was a fantastic match between Beechy Under 8’s Storm and Moorside Rangers Yellow. Goalkeeper Jack Hanbury made two excellent saves in the first half and at one stage United were two goals up via Oliver Cowley and Joshua Kilfoyle. This was the Storm’s best display so far this season and the whole team shared the Man of the Match Award.

Playing away at Winton Wanderers Spitfires were the Under 7’s Storm. Leading marksman Kylan Twigg netted United’s only goal and Ellis Adamson received the team’s Star Player Award.

Involved in a nine goal thriller with Ladybridge Wolves were Beechy Under 7’s Tornadoes. Goals for the Tornadoes came via Fletcher Jackson (Hat-Trick) and Man of the Match Jacob Kershaw-Schilling.

A Hat-Trick by Ethan Harris was the highlight of the Under 7’s Hurricanes home game with Flixton Junior Lions. Dylan Robinson was named Man of the Match.
