New Team Managers in 2018/2019 were Tom Brady U/7's STORM & Chris White U/10's LIGHTNING plus Graham Everall and Colin Grimes who returned to the club to become Managers of the U/13's STORM and U/15's Sunday Team.
United's Senior 1st Team kicked-off their season on Saturday 11th August 2018 with a Premier Division home game with Springhead FC but despite an excellent all-round performance Beechy had to settle for a 1-1 draw. On target for United was Jordan Jones-Waite. The Saturday Morning Senior Team were away against West Didsbury for their opening Division 1 fixture. Max Leonard (2) and Oliver Brown fired in the goals as United secured a 3-2 victory on 8/9/2018. Voted Man of the Match was central defender Matthew Swift.
In the Junior Section there were four teams in action on Saturday 8th September 2018. In the North Bury Junior League Max Chidgey from the penalty spot, Tom Critchley and Andrew Woodward got the goals for Beechy Under 14's Tornadoes who fielded six new players in a 6-3 defeat away at Littleborough Junior Yellow. The Under 14's Thunder began their Championship Division campaign at home to Rossendale Valley Tigers but after producing a highly impressive display United didn't deserve to suffer a 3-2 defeat. Goals for Thunder came via Harvey Walker (penalty) and last seasons top goal scorer Prince Idusuyi. Enjoying a winning start in the Bolton Bury and District League were Beechy Under 15's Tornadoes and Under 16's Tornadoes. In Section D the Under 15's beat Ringley Park Rangers 6-3 at Stott Lane Playing Fields thanks to a dominant performance and goals from Man of the Match Jack Broadie (hat-trick) Billy Wadeson, Fernley Davies and Charlie Wallwork. Away at Tiki Taka Madrid in Section B the Under 16's were rewarded for a top-class display with a convincing 8-0 win. Star Player Ademola Olusanya (hat-trick) Leighton White (2) Jack Rodgers, Mylo Thornton and Jeanny Le Blanc scored the goals.
At home for their first official Salford and Districts League fixture were Beechy U8's Storm. In the Blue Group on target with the goals were Harry Wallis and Bobby Harrison in a victory over met AFC Monton. Man of the Match was Nathan Kay. Making a flying start to the season were the Under 10's Hurricanes who beat Urmston Town Eagles thanks to a superb all-round display and goals from Alfie Rostron, Henry Errington, Joshua Whitehead and Amaan Khan. Kicking off the season in the Green Group the Under 11's Storm (9v9) were away to Winton Raptors. Oliver Cowley, Noah O'Connor, Damian Derbyshire, Coby Cleary, Thomas Hawkins, Andrew Ackernley and James Cadwaladr got the goals and named M-O-M was Edward Lucas. The Under 14's Thunder were in action in the NBJFL when they travelled to play Barr Hill Hearts. In this Championship Division fixture Beechy who lost 3-1 created lots of chances but had just the one goal to show for their efforts courtesy of Jacob Lacey. (15/9/2018)
Playing away against local rivals Moorside Rangers Yellow the Under 13's Tornadoes were on the wrong end of a 7-2 score line. Beechy's consolation goals were scored by Justin Suele and Bradley Oliver. The Under 12's Lightning boys opened their season away to Boothstown Clarets and suffered a 5-2 defeat. In Division 3 both goals for Beechy came via Man of the Match Daniel Williams. Slowly adjusting to life in the SDJFL were United's new team the Under 10's Lightning who met Abraham Moss away. On a 4G Astroturf Pitch Beechy would most likely have won this Green Group game but for an outstanding performance from the Abraham Moss goalkeeper. Under 9's Lightning goalkeeper Brandon Booth was absent for the Yellow Group away game with Moorside Rangers. Oliver Eckersley was Best Player and Charlie Swift netted Lightning's consolation goal. United's newly formed Under 15's Sunday team played their first official Timperley and District League Division 4 game. Following an impressive display at home to AFC Urmston Meadowside Athletico a delighted Beechy Manager Colin Grimes was happy with a 2-2 draw. Jack Brodie and Billy Wadeson got the goals and Charlie Wallwork received the Star Player award. Involved in a rather scrappy game against Adlington Lazers were the Under 15's Tornadoes. In the BBDJFL Beechy had home advantage for this Section D fixture and following a goalless first half Lazers eventually won the match 1-0. Tornadoes Man of the Match was Henry Grimes. Goals by Man of the Match Ben Garlick, Samuel Oludoyi and Charlie Molloy guaranteed the Under 14's Storm a 3-0 Division 1 away win over De La Salle Reds. Beechy Under 7's entertained Salford United Juniors for their first Division 1 home game of the season and lost the contest that included seven goals. United's squad was Daniel Wharton, Spencer Arden, Patrik Doherty, Sophie Price, Thomas Brady, Oliver Cooper, Jacob Wood and Aiden Gradwell. (29th/30th September 2018)
Away to Middleton Lads the Under 14's Thunder made a confident start to this North Bury Junior League Championship Division fixture but Beechy were unable to take advantage of numerous gilt edged chances and lost the match 2-0. Thunder's Man of the Match was goalkeeper Reiss Miller who produced several outstanding saves. After holding a one goal half time lead in their away game at St Johns Chorlton the Under 15's Sunday team conceded three goals early in the second half. But displaying amazing recovery powers United produced a stunning fightback and won this Division 4 fixture 4-3. On target for Beechy were Man of the Match Billy Wadeson (2) Ellis Kenny and Mathew Bennett. There was a first Division 3 win of the season for the Under 12's Lightning who were away against Deans Panthers. Daniel Williams (hat trick) Man of the Match Kyle Stafford (2) David Olidoy and Jake Barrington fired home the goals that earned Lightning a 7-2 victory. (6th/7th October 2018)
Back in league action in the Blue Group the Under 10's Tornadoes met Boothstown Falcons and Beechy Manager Mark Rowbotham praised his players after they produced a great all-round performance. Ebosele Oguname, George Rowbotham and Ethan Harris got the goals, goalkeeper Asa Brown saved a penalty and Mycah Camilleri was the teams Best Player. Maintaining their winning start to the season in the Salford and Districts League were the Under 10's Hurricanes who made it five wins on the trot. In another terrific display Alfie Rostron (hat trick) and Man of the Match Daniel Robinson scored the goals that earned Beechy an easy win. A hat trick by Stewart Kay who also collected the Man of the Match award was the highlight of the Under 9's Tornadoes home game with Winton Spartans. In the Green Group the Beechy boys have made a decent start to the season following some very good performances. (13/10/2018)
In the Steeles Shield the Saturday Morning Senior Team moved safely through to the quarter-finals after they beat Manchester Celtic 5-0 away. United who totally dominated this cup-tie had chances to hit double figures but they were happy to settle for five goals. There was a hat trick for Man of the Match Scott Foulds plus a goal apiece from Roy Owen and Enow Ekule. Ronan Mullen, Daniel Hesketh and Sonny O'Brien who was making his debut got the goals for the Under 12's Typhoon (9v9) in the Division 2 away game with De La Salle Hawks. Producing a great defensive display was Freddie Latham who was an automatic choice for the Star Play award. Thanks to some exceptional football Beechy Under 9's Lightning were rewarded with a fully deserved away win over Winton Devils. Goals by Deenraj Singh, Othniel Seyoum who was making his debut and Man of the Match Kaylon Salisbury secured the victory. (20/10/2018)
The Under 13's Storm made a bad start to their Section C home game with Horwich St Marys and found themselves 2-0 down. Rafael Ceita reduced the arrears but against the run of play the visitors regained their two goal advantage. Two goals from Jayden Okoli made it 3-3 at half time and dominating the second half Storm took the lead via Ben Delaney. Man of the Match Jayden Okoli completed his hat trick then Rafael Ceita scored the goal of the game with a brilliant volley from a corner that put the gloss on Beechy's 6-3 victory. Man of the Match Dylan Walker scored six goals as the Under 11's Hurricanes (9v9) celebrated their first win this season when they hit double figures against Winton Raptors. Also on target for Beechy in this Green Group away game were Rian Haines, William Schofield and Harrison Tinald. The Beechy Under 8's Storm versus Moorside Rangers Blue Group fixture was a great advertisement for mini-soccer. The teams shared six goals and on target for the Storm were Alfie Roddy, Ryden Coward and Kingsley Walters. (27/10/2018)
Classed as their best performance so far this season United's Senior First Team earned a thrilling 3-1 away in the Gilgryst Cup over Walshaw Sports. As they dealt with some early pressure from the hosts Beechy had Mike Rogerson and Luke Johnston to thank for some great defending plus keeper Andrew Richardson for three vital saves. Gradually United looked more confident going forward and Jordan Jones-Waite was a threat to the Walshaw defence via some powerful surging solo runs. In this fiercely contested cup-tie Beechy's midfield trio of Chris Ferris, Ethan Birds and Matthew McNally worked like trojans and Louis Duff was always involved in his wing back role. Following a free kick taken by Jamie Sinnott United took the lead in the 13th minute when during a goalmouth scramble Ethan Birds knocked the ball into the net from close range. Walshaw Sports always looked dangerous on the counter-attack and had chances to equaliser but in quick succession efforts by the hosts No10 and No9 were off target. Winning another free kick Beechy increased their lead after thirty eight minutes through Matthew McNally and United came close to a third goal just before half time. Both teams continued to compete fiercely for possession when the second half got underway and both Luke Johnston and Carl Ravenscroft defended superbly as Walshaw stepped up a gear and the hosts reduced the arrears on sixty two minutes. Shaking off the setback United created some superb counter-attacking soccer and efforts by Jamie Sinnott and Jordan Jones-Waite were inches away from beating the Walshaw keeper. Man of the Match Ethan Birds who had a terrific game was replaced by Mike Phythian and he quickly adapted to the pace of the game eventually supplying the killer pass that set-up Jamie Sinnott who hammered home United's third goal. Inside the last five minutes the referee awarded Walshaw a debatable penalty but the hosts No8 saw the ball hit the crossbar from the resulting spot-kick. (3/11/2018)
Maintaining their unbeaten start to the season in the SDFL were the Under 14's Storm. In the Challenge Tournament Beechy celebrated a 6-0 away win over AFC Salford Juniors following a superb all-round performance. Archie Cooper (2) Adam Rothwell, Samuel Oludoyi, Joe Newton and Man of the Match Manu Mouanda from the penalty spot fired home the goals. There was another high scoring display from Beechy Under 9's Tornadoes who were also in action in the Challenge Tournament. Defenders Dylan Courtney and Colin Twardak shared the Man of the Match award and the goals that secured victory over Moorside Rangers Red came via Josh Beddows, Stewart Kay, Logan McFeely and Martin Cholakov. At home to De La Salle the Under 7's showed a vast improvement passing the ball much better and defending more as a unit. Their reward was a couple of good goals scored by Player of the Match Aiden Gradwell. (10/11/2018)
At home to neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellows the Under 13's Tornadoes secured three valid Division 1 points thanks to an 8-0 victory. Bradley Oliver (hat trick) M-O-M Adam Wood (2) Charlie Mulvenna (2) and Justin Suele were on target. In an in-house Challenge Tournament fixture the Under 9's Lightning played the Under 9's Thunder at Beech Farm. Both teams produced some great attacking soccer and were praised for their sportsmanship shown before, during and after the game. Charlie Smethurst collected Thunder's Man of the Match award while helping himself to five goals in the match for Lightning was Jeano Baker. Following a 3-0 home win over Brooklands Dragons in the TDJFL the Under 14's Sunday team moved up to fourth place in the Division 4 table. Jack Thompson who was named Man of the Match gave Beechy a 1-0 half time lead and the victory was guaranteed when Shaun Heywood and Billy Wadeson netted further goals in the second half.
