Salford Utd U11 Devils v Beechfield Utd U11 Tornadoes (Salford and Districts Junior League)

After a week off due to a frozen pitch the Tornadoes were back on action on Salford Sports Village. The first half saw Salford edge it on terms of possession and chances, but their opening goal was a complete fluke, the shot hitting the post, coming out and hitting the back of keeper Ty Dobson's head before trickling into the net. Beechy had some good chances to score, Grayson Evans worked hard all game and he and Jayden Lowe both could have hit the target. We then conceded a goal on the break and another shot from twenty yards which flew into the top corner, two keepers wouldn't have stopped that was harsh on Beechy.

The 2nd half was actually one of the best halves of football we have played all season. We played some excellent football in Salford's half, had them penned back for the majority of the time, creating numerous chances. Harry Myddleton was running rings round the defence and was unlucky not to score. Grayson and Jayden again went close, Dawood Fakeeh burst through on numerous occasions, Ryan Cordingley caused havoc from the right side. Twenty minutes of complete dominance yet the ball would not go in. Eventually we got the goal our play more then deserved when Mason Stockton scored his first of the season with a fine low shot from the left. We continued to steam forward, Mason came close to his 2nd and had other chances. With virtually the last kick of the game Salford broke away as we committed bodies forward and scored a fourth.

Beechy should have got something out of this game and on balance of play could even have won it, but it wasn't to be. The whole teams effort today was fantastic and the results will come soon enough if we play like today.

Player of the Match was a close call between Alex McGrory who was a rock at the back all day, and Mason Stockton, who just pipped Alex to the award with a tremendous performance at left wing back, picking up his first goal for the club. Well done Mason!
