- U/15's Hurricanes Go Top Of The Division 1 Table
A 6-1 away win over Urmston Town Juniors took the Under 15's HURRICANES unbeaten run in February 2024 to three games and to the top of the Division 1 table in the Salford and Districts League.
*At Barton Clough in Stretford Beechy secured the three points with superb team display but after twenty minutes play there were still no goals until the Hurricanes took the lead via a spectacular finish from Man of the Match Lucca Humphries. Remaining in control Beechy went 2-0 up when Joshua Whitehead supplied a great through ball for Henry Errington who coolly beat an Urmston defender before slotting the ball past the keeper. The hosts finally go a better foothold in the game and an Urmston midfield player forced a fine fingertip save from Hurricanes keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker. Though Beechy had dominated the first half they knew more hard work was required throughout the next forty minutes. The second half produced a fairly even start and in one Hurricanes attacking move Henry Errington went on a mazy run and beat four players before being blatantly fouled by the last defender who was lucky just to see a yellow card. From the resulting free kick Beechy won a corner and after the ball was curled into the box Lucca Humphries made it 3-0 from close range. Alfie Rostron netted the fourth goal when in a one-on-one with the Urmston keeper maintained a cool head and dinked the ball into the side of the net. Following a free kick the hosts reduced the arrears but the Hurricanes soon restored their four goal advantage via Oliver Nangle who received a pass from Joshua Whitehead and fired a low effort that took a deflection before the ball found the back of the net. In the final few minutes Beechy were rewarded with goal number six after Rafael Djacy won possession on the right wing then at the end of a surging run beat the keeper with a low and accurate finish.
