- Junior Section Match Details 4/1/2025
Due to the adverse weather at the start of the New Year just five games were played in the Junior Section on Saturday 4th January 2025.
*On a cold and frosty morning Beechy Under 16's HURRICANES were at home against Stockport Villa at David Lewis Playing Fields. In this Division 1 fixture the Hurricanes took the lead when a Villa defender turned the ball into his own net following a dangerous cross by Henry Errington. A confident looking outfit Beechy continued to dominate the early exchanges and Owen Hogben was on target when he made 2-0. Stockport Villa managed to get themselves back into the game when they reduced the arrears before half time. The Hurricanes made a bright start in the second half but Stockport Villa equalised then the visitors went 3-2 up. During a tense end to this high quality game Beechy deservedly got back level thanks to JJ Lowery who's goal earned the Hurricanes a point and a 3-3 draw. Man of the Match was Mihail Savchev.
*The Under 15's TORNADOES made a great start to the New Year in the Salford and Districts League following their home game with Manchester Bees. When the teams met earlier in the season Beechy suffered a 5-0 defeat but the Tornadoes gained revenge winning this Division 2 game 4-0. As they piled the pressure on the Bees defence Beechy took the lead through Josh Beddows after a brilliant pass from Finn Browne. In the second half the Tornadoes grew in confidence and were rewarded with their second goal scored by Oscar Mather. Manchester Bees continually reminded the Tornadoes of their capabilities forcing some vital defending from Beechy who's goalkeeper Harley played a major part with some dramatic saves. A beautiful header by Jayden Hoye put the Tornadoes 3-0 up but Beechy's players began to tire so a few substitutions were made and moving players around the pitch plugged the gaps keeping Manchester Bees at bay. This tactic paid off and victory was fully guaranteed when Oscar Mather scored his second and the Tornadoes fourth goal. This was a thoroughly entertaining match and a real confidence boost for the Beechy Boys. Team Boss Wayne Mather said he was very proud of all the Tornadoes players.
*There was no Salford and District League fixture for the Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) so a friendly match was arranged with Ordsall Juniors. Dominating the game throughout Beechy were rewarded with an emphatic victory as they began the New Year in style. The eight players sharing the goals were George Barlow, Zack MacKinnon, Lucio Riva, Max Blood, Luke Bennett, Tyler Ackernley, Archie Charles and Blake Salmon. assists for the goals came via Luke, Max, Archie, Zack and Charlie Pugh.
*Earning themselves a winning start to 2025 were Beechy Under 10's STORM who were at home to Salford United Boys. In the Salford and Districts League Beechy stretched their current unbeaten run to ten games. Seth Barber led the goalscorers when he netted four times plus there was a goal apiece for Alfie Heighway, Bobby Lowe and Harry Chambers. Storm's eleven player squad for this Red Group fixture also included Kade Doyle, Harry Heathcote-Clare, Jacob Foster, Oscar Pugh, Oscar Berry, Isaac Hargreaves and George Savage.
