Beechfield United U/7's Storm put in another dominant display as they secured a victory over Urmston Meadowsde Rovers. A strong team performance backed by some excellent goalkeeping, passing and attacking play saw Storm come out on top in an entertaining match. The game started with Urmston Meadowside pushing forward but Beechy keeper Harry was quick to make an early save. Storm soon found their rhythm with Archie and Ollie testing the Urmston goalkeeper then Harry was called into action again before Theo fired a shot which was blocked. Storm continued to press with Archie, Reni and Jett all going close to a goal then Harry made another fine save showing his sharp reflexes before the breakthrough finally came when Louie found the net after a clever assist from Jett. Moments later Jett doubled the lead with a well-taken goal to give Storm a solid advantage at the break.
Second Half:
Beechy picked up where they left off and Archie extended the lead finishing off another assist from Jett. Harry remained a busy keeper pulling off a string of saves before Archie struck again when he scored Storm's fourth goal. In a rare moment of madness harry went from hero to goalscorer - launching the ball from his own net that somehow found the back of the oppositions goal. Urmston managed to pull a goal back while the goalkeepers were being swapped over but Storm quickly regained control. Ollie scored Beechy's sixth goal after getting on the end of Reni's corner and although Urmston grabbed a second goal Ollie struck again late on following another assist from Reni to round off the scoring. The Beechy Boys are putting their training into action and results are showing. Their link-up play was excellent in this game and it was great to see their skill and awareness growing each week.
