Fletcher Moss Rangers v Beechfield United U/11's Storm Salford and Districts Junior League

*The Under 11's STORM (9v9) were away to Fletcher Moss Rangers a team they hadn't met before in the Salford and districts Junior League. The scene was set and the sun was beaming in anticipation of a competitive grassroots game of football. Beechy kicked-off the game and quickly asserted themselves as the dominant force without really threatening the Feltcher Moss goal. It was a bit of a lethargic affair, maybe the heat got to the Beechy Boys and they struggled to make their superiority pay and Storm went in at half time sharing a goalless scoreline. Into the second half Beechy continued be the better side but missing many more chances Storm were starting to feel it wasn't going to be their day. But when the ball was played through the middle of the park to Austin Pierce he broke the offside trap and put the ball into the net from the edge of the area to open the scoring. Beechy with their tails up continued to push for another goal but they were caught out at the back when against the run of play Fletcher Moss equalised after eventually bundling the ball into the net following a scramble in the box. That leveller sparked Storm into their best spell of the game and after missing two good chances to win it Beechy did secure the victory. Ismail Adentona breaking down the right wing crossed the ball to the back post and Denholm Brooks took a touch and hammered it home for Storm's match winning goal. This was a game Beechy should have won more comfortably but made it hard work, though showing signs of a good team by winning games when not at their best. Man of the Match was Josh Lowry Storm's left back and back-up keeper who played a full game in net and was flawless all-round.
