- U/7's Thunder Match Report 26/4/2025
Urmston Meadowside Rebels versus Beechfield United Thunder U7s
Salford and Districts Junior League Blue Group
Thunder took the spoils against a very strong physical Urmston side, with both teams playing entertaining football from start to finish, in an excellent team performance. Defender Gideon James powering down the middle opened the scoring with a great run into attack with a powerful finish on the edge of the box. With Thunder dominating play instantly the front three, Roman Ashworth, Aldo Gannon and Ronnie Green with their quick one, twos, crosses and great passing dominated all game. Man of the Match Ronnie Green, again with his left foot scoring quite possibly the goal of the season with great build up play and a top finish. Roman Ashworth got Thunders 3rd goal from great team play, putting Thunder well ahead at half time. Thunder continued to dominate the game with most improved player George Lawson and Jesse Fletcher playing a big part to keep Urmston at bay and working hard to help their teammates. Freddie Tiptons link up play and runs down the right wing led to a great strike from Aldo Gannon to increase the lead. Thunders fifth goal came from great passing and movement with Roman to be brought down in the penalty box and he slotted it in from a rebound after a great save from the keeper. Parents Man of the Match, was goalkeeper Raurie Brassington, when called upon from the few attacks Urmston had made excellent saves every time, with his distribution to start attacks getting better each game. Final goal of the match came from Freddie Tipton from a great cross whipped in from the right side with a great touch from Freddie to finish off in the bottom left hand corner. Overall an excellent team performance and with the cup final only a few weeks away, with performances like today they will have more confidence going into the final. Special mention goes to our trophy winners Ronnie, Raurie, George.
