POSTED: October 14 2025 19:35:30 By Keith Long - Junior Section Match Details 11/10/2025

Following the previous Saturday's blanket postponement due to Storm Amy Beechy Junior Section teams were back in action.

*In the Manchester Youth Super League Beechy Under 11's THUNDER (9v9) produced an outstanding performance in their Group A Cup game with Mountfield Rovers. Against one of the teams at the top of the table some brilliant football and goals secrued secured the Beechy Boys a 4-0 win. Thunder's Manager Mark Newby praised stand-in goalkeeper Henry Jones who had an unbelievable game as he displayed a super attitude along with several great saves. On target with the goals for Thunder were Sonny Phillips, Edan Telford and Jamin Usuidai. Also special mention to Sony Phillips who has been invited to train with Blackburn Rovers. An outstanding achievement and fully deserved. Good Luck Sonny.

*Beechy Under 12's LIGHTNING (9v9) faced a very good Middleton Greens outfit in their Manchester Youth Super League Division 2 fixture. Lightning's opponents are currently in second place in the league table and scoring a lot of goals. Beechy's match plan was to play deep, soak up the pressure and wait for their chances on the break. The first half went relatively to plan, Beechy worked hard and only conceded one goal after a defensive mix-up. If Lightning kept a good shape in the second half goalscoring opportunities would follow. But unfortunately Beechy conceded a couple of goals from corners when Middleton's players took full use of their height advantage. Despite creating a few breakaway attacks Lightning were unable to secure a consolation goal and lost 4-0. Overall this was a very good battling performance for the Beechy Boys who just lacked a bit of quality when they needed it. Man of the Match went to Leo Law for his strong commanding dislpay as centre half.

Unstoppable Spirit: Boys Win Fourth Straight in Thriller!

Another fantastic performance and our fourth consecutive win — built on pressure, recovery, and heart! From the opening whistle, our boys took control of the midfield, pressing with intensity and preventing the opponent from finding any rhythm. Harry stood confident in goal, while William and Jaiden were rock solid in defence, clearing every threat and keeping things organised at the back.

The breakthrough came from William, perfectly positioned inside the box to finish off a smart corner from Samuel. Moments later, Samuel showed his hunger and work ethic — pressing high, stealing the ball from the opponent, and calmly sliding it past the goalkeeper for our second goal.

When Jude had to leave the field after a tough challenge, Alvin and Kevin entered and immediately changed the pace of the game. Kevin, with his trademark energy, recovered a ball in midfield and drove forward with determination to score our third. Shortly after, a handball in the box gave us a penalty, and Samuel stepped up with confidence to give Beechy a four goal lead before halftime.

In the second half, the rhythm dropped a little, but it was a proud debut for Jude in goal — showing courage and focus in his first minutes defending our net. The team lost a bit of shape, allowing the opposition to score twice, but Alvin answered quickly with a strong finish to add a fifth goal.

The closing minutes brought drama: the opponents scored again, followed by an unlucky own goal, narrowing the gap. But our boys refused to let go. Kevin, once again the spark, won the ball high up the pitch, sprinted into space, and finished brilliantly to seal the victory

MOM: Well deserved the trophy today for Kevin, he played very well running all the time, never stopping, looking for a ball and scoring 2 magnificent goals.

*Under 8s Challenge Tournament
BEECHFIELD THUNDER v SWINTON LIONS

Thunders cup games started with a loss, a mixed performance from the team who were up against it from kick off, trailingby five goals at half time the second half was a different story with Thunder piling on the pressure and two early goals from Player of the Match Gideon James who showed again his consistency and composure, holding the ball up well with two identical finishes in front of goal. Parents Player of the Match Raurie Brassington kept Thunder in the game with some great saves, with one triple save and his distribution from the back getting better each week. Aldo Gannon pulled back a third goal with a poachers goal and Most Improved player and Sub Freddie Tipton, who the last few weeks has done everything asked of him on Matchdays, showing how much of a valuable squad member he is to the team getting in front of his defender with a wonderful strike on the right. Plenty of positives against a strong Swinton side and our first away trip of the season next week at Urmston Meadowside in our second game of the cup 🏆

*BEECHFIELD TORNADOES U8s v LSA JUNIOR BLACK
Saturday, 11th October 2025
POTM: Eric

First Half
LSA started strongly, taking an early lead despite some good saves from Gianluca. Theo was unlucky with a few early efforts that went just wide, before Harry’s great strikes produced two excellent goals, one assisted by Gianluca, bringing it back to a goal down at half time.

Second Half
LSA added two more after the break, and although the Tornadoes battled hard and Harry made a fine save, they couldn’t close the gap. Theo was solid in defence throughout the second half, showing great determination.

A tough first game againest oposition in a higher group but full of effort and commitment. Eric worked tirelessly across the pitch, Rocco was strong at the back, and Sergio battled superbly in midfield. Noah’s confidence grew as the game went on, really warming up by the second half. Plenty of positives to take forward — you either win or you learn!

What a way to kick off the Challenge Cup! Beechfield Lightning were on fire from the very first whistle, storming to a brilliant win over Deans Lions in front of their home crowd.

Ronnie was everywhere – bagging a great goal and setting up another, constantly causing chaos for the Lions’ defence. He was a real thorn in their tail! 🦁⚡

Out on the wing, Elliot battled through a nasty cough but still found the energy to slot home a lovely finish – talk about dedication! 💪

Ralph added a cool goal of his own and chipped in with an assist, topping off a top-class performance. In midfield, Angelo was rock solid – breaking up play, intercepting everything, and showing real leadership all game.

Finley impressed too, spraying some brilliant passes around and getting stuck in with strong tackles to keep the Lions quiet.

Bodie was calmness personified – showing great composure on the ball, making smart decisions under pressure, and helping the team keep control when it mattered most. A really classy performance! 👏⚽

Up front, Brayden was simply unstoppable – smashing in two absolute rockets and nearly grabbing a hat-trick! He was a constant menace for the Lions’ defence and full of confidence. 🚀⚽

And at the back, Bobby pulled off some excellent saves and looked calm and composed throughout. He was only beaten by a long-range strike, but nothing else was getting past him today! 🧤

A fantastic team effort from every single Lightning player – full of energy, teamwork, and goals. A cracking start to the Challenge Cup – bring on the next round! ⚡👏
Man of the Match - Brayden 👏

**BEECHFIELD UNITED STORM U/9s v OLD TRAFFORD JNRS*
⚽️
Nathan x3
Jose x2
James x1

🅰️
Reggie x1
Josh x1
Arman x1
Nathan x1

Best team performance of the season from STORM who has effectively a new team this year but showed moments of brilliant team football.

Team had Vincent in net, Reggie and Josh at the back as usual, James Nathan in midfield with Jose occupying attacking mid, Alfie up top

Storm started excellently with some direct play have Jose released who shot wide, again another chance quickly after as the opposition struggled against a STORM team playing rondos on the pitch. Jose and James had chances which should have seen the back of the net but decisions to not play the ball or shoot quick enough costing Storm.

Alfie battering upfront saw the ball fall to Nathan - he took centre stage, the team needing a cutting edge he moved the ball from midfield, round a couple of players and slamming the ball in from an acute angle.

The first 20 minutes Storm looked unbeatable with Josh and Reggie excelling to sweep anything up, Reggie keen to get involved stormed past the defence, sliding the ball down the left to Jose - ran forward and made sure this time with a brilliant finish.

Storm wasn’t finished here, the introduction to Arman must’ve been a nightmare for the opposition who had his quick footwork to now contend with. It was James and Alfie battling up top which led the ball to drop to Arman, who slid the ball across to Nathan who powered a ball off the post and gk to the back of the net.

Storm started to look lax and resting on laurels, Vincent stood up and made some brilliant acrobatic saves to the left and right to pick the ball from almost certain goals. However, now OT leaving a striker up left a 1 v 1 - Reggie initially doing well with his partner in crime dropping in with him - a failure to clear lines left an easy goal to concede.

Old Trafford looked the brighter starting the second half and from Storm overcommitting from kick off gave them the run where the finished with precision.

Storm having to dig deep and reorganise - Vincent again called to make some exquisite acrobatic saves.

From a game they were coasting had Josh and Arman take shots which were well saved by the gk - however we saw Nathan again step up, win the ball and power down the right lacing the ball from outside of the box to finish exceptionally.

Momentum now firmly with Storm & defence regaining composure saw Josh battle, win the ball and slide down the right - identical to Reggie’s assist in the first half from the left - with James taking it and smacking a beautiful strike from distance finding the bottom corner.

Storm continued to push with Old Trafford not giving up, Nathan now sitting back to help defend the lead played a beautiful ball with Jose now swapping into different boots run through and finish to the top of the net.

Alfie took the gloves making some instinctive and solid saves, one diving at the attackers feet showing bravery. However, from a corner the short one not picked up leaving the striker with all the time to pick a beautiful curling effort into the top right corner.

The progression of the lads today & camaraderie on the pitch was great to see with all the lads putting in a fantastic shift as well as putting on a great performance.

MOTM & Parents Player:
Shout out to both Reggie and Josh who played every minute of this match. Voted by the players and parents these two lads were the difference in a win or a draw - Vincent MOTM- a multitude of photo finish saves, and solid distribution with Nathan who’s been working hard on his finishing came to fruition today - his hat-trick winning us the game scoring at the most critical moments.

**BEECHY TORNADOES U9's v MOSS LANE ROVERS U'9s

Also in action in the Challenge Tournament were the Under 9's Tornadoes who had home advantage in this Group C tie. Goals for Beechy in their brilliant victory came via Arlo McFarlane, Ralph Cassidy, Kayden Knight and Ellis Carter. Also involved in this star studded Beechy display were Alfie Shearer, Oscar Hall, Jayden Bennett, Ezra Litte and Amir Eltomseneen.

**WINTON MAVERICKS v BEECHFIELD UNITED STORM U/12's*

In round 1 of the Challenge Cup, the Storm boys drew a lower league team in Winton Wanderers Mavericks. We warmed up with our usual intensity mindful that we didn’t want to be on the receiving end of a giant killing in round 1.

The boys were sent out to do a job and as the game kicked off they were in total control, what was most impressive was the quality of the passing, switching play and creating a few guilt edge chances which we failed to stick away. It wasn’t long however until the deadlock was broken, Barkley Pope with a driving run down the right battling his way through 3 defenders before squaring to Joel Momoh who tucked away his chance left footed. The one way traffic continued and it wasn’t long before the second came, Austin Pierce finishing off a lovely move. The third came soon after, Ismail Adetona rising like a salmon to head home a lovely corner from Denholm Brooks. This was how we went into half time despite some fantastic work from Austin Pierce to win 2 penalties before the break, both of which we missed.

We were a little disappointed at half time because despite playing some good football we weren’t as clinical as we’d like so the boys were sent out into the second half to put that right.

Almost straight from kick off Beechy got their 4th, a lovely finish from Denholm Brooks before Austin tapped in a 5th after some great passing in the build up. The 6th wasnt far behind as Denholm picked up the ball on the edge of the box in space, took a touch into the box and found the bottom corner. Not to be outdone Austin popped up with his hat trick after being put through one on one with the keeper. Ismail popped up with his second after beating his man out wide he cut inside and found the bottom corner. Denholm got back in on the act again finding the ball on the edge of the box making a yard and placing the ball for his hattrick. The scoring was capped off as Austin went through 1 on 1 with the keeper only for their centre back to knock him off balance, but he managed to get a nick to knock the ball goalwards and the ball bobbled over the keeper.

A strong performance in the end, a game we dominated but to Wintons credit they made it difficult at times. We move on into round 2.

Man of the Match was Austin Pierce, 4 well taken goals and could probably have had a few more. He also won us 2 pens which on another day get put away.

**BEECHFIELD UTD U12s TORNADOES v PARKWYDDN HAWKS U12s (Cup)

We were drawn to play Parkwyddn from the league Division above us today in the cup, so expected a tough match. We started well the team followed the instructions for the opening 10 minutes or so, both sides had a couple of half chances, Josh Green going closest for Beechy with an effort from the edge of the box. Parkwyddn then started to pile on the pressure and went 2 goals up. Our heads started to drop, we lost the battle in midfield and capitulated just before half time to find ourselves 7-0 down at the break and the game was already over.

Like the first half we started the 2nd ok. Josh Green was brought down in the box and converted the pen himself to reduce the deficit. Parkwyddn the scored a couple more before Josh Green scored his 2nd and possibly the goal of the game with a fine half volley over the keepers head. We tried for more consolation goals but were caught short at the back time and time again against a decent side. Final score 2-13. A tough day at the office and plenty to work on in training but thankfully we dont have to play sides of that standard every week.

Player of the match for the 2nd game running was without doubt new signing Josh Green, 2 goals and was our biggest attacking threat throughout. Heads up we go again next week.

**The Under 13's TORNADOES had a busy weekend with a Bolton Bury and District League game on Saturday followed by a Manchester FA County Youth Cup game on Sunday. On Saturday morning Beechy were at home to Prestwich Eagles and following a 5-1 victory the Tornadoes retained top spot in the Section B table. Lucio Riva, Luke Bennett, Archie Charles, Myles Harris and Zack MacKinnon got the goals while the goal assists came from Luke, Lucio and Myles.

On Sunday in the MCFA Youth Cup the Tornadoes were in Round 1 action when they tavelled to play Altrincham Junior Whites. There were seven different goalscorers for the Tornadoes as they booked their place in the next round of the competition with an 11-1 victory. On target were Max Blood (5) Christopher Bryce, Archie Charles, Zack MacKinnon, Luke Bennett, Lynott Cassidy and Thomas Nutsy.
