- Junior Section Match Details 20/09/2025
There were goals galore in the Junior Section games that included a first win of the season for Beechy U'9s Tornadoes.
*The Under 9's TORNADOES were away at Swinton Tigers in the Salford and Districts League Blue Group. According to Manager Ruari Tobin the Tornadoes were winners with a comeback true to the underdog nature of his team. There was a hat-trick from Ralph in a mega team performance full of both effort and attitude. Beechy's squad was Cormac, Jayden, Ezra, Oscar, Ralph, Amir, Arlo, Alfie, Kayden and Ellis.
*Making it two wins on the trot were Beechy Under 7's LIGHTNING who met Deans Youth Sports. A rainy morning set the stage for a match filled with emotions and the Beechy Boys started a bit unorganised and Deans quickly took advantage scoring two goals. But the early goals didn't shake Lightning's team spirit instead they fought back. With sheer determination Beechy struck back reducing the arrears with a beautiful goal from Jude after an assist from Freddie. Everything changed in the second half when early on Samuel scored twice to give Lightning the lead. The game stayed evenly balanced for a few minutes as both teams created chances but soon the floodgates opened. Alvin, Kevin and Samuel each added a goal pushing the score out of Deans reach. Meanwhile Lightning's goalkeeper Harry stayed sharp and decisive handling the few threats from the opposition with calm and focus. Finally the whistle blew right after Kevin's second strike sealed the victory. It wasn't just the goals it was the teamwork, the passing and the relentless effort that made this a brilliant performance from start to finish. Lightning's Man of the Match was Kevin for his cntribution throughout the game, recovering the ball and being consistent in defence and attack. Beechy's team was Harry, Freddie, Samuel, Caspian, Jaiden, William, Kevin and Alvin.
*BEECHFIELD TORNADOES U8s v MOSS LANE ROVERS
Date: 20th September 2025
Score: Beechfield Tornadoes versus Moss Lane Rovers
POTM: Noah
First Half
It was a wet Saturday morning but the TORNADOES weren’t deterred and started fast, with Eric opening the scoring after a neat assist from Gianluca.
Noah quickly followed up with a fine strike of his own before Gianluca scored from a pass from Noah.
The link-up play continued as Gianluca added another, this time from Eric’s assist. Eric then turned provider again, setting up Noah for his second, before Noah completed a first-half hat-trick thanks to Gianluca’s clever play.
Second Half
Moss Lane pulled one back after the restart, but Eric answered immediately, finishing off Gianluca’s pass.
Eric struck again soon after from Rocco’s assist before Rocco got on the scoresheet himself.
Moss Lane responded with another goal, but Theo powered through with a fine finish to restore control.
Moss Lane scored once more, only for Theo to hit back with a goal after Rocco’s assist. Gianluca then converted from Theo’s pass before Theo capped the day off with a perfectly timed first-strike goal right before the final whistle. We saw great things from Sergio today, excellent passing and positioning and fantastic at taking advice straight on board.
A strong display from the Tornadoes with great teamwork and plenty of goals. The effort was excellent and with more focus in training, the team will keep on improving.
*BEECHFIELD THUNDER Under 8s v MOORSDIDE RANGERS YELLOW
Thunder recorded their first win of the season against a spirited Moorside team who took the lead early in the match with two goals. In typical Thunder style this galvanised the boys to up the tempo and with one touch passing and pressing the opponents in their own half Thunder clawed a goal back with Aldo Gannon getting his first of four goals in the match. Ronnie Green pulled a second back to make it all square. With the game level Thunder continued to create chances and again Gideon James took his chance to move up the field on one of his runs to finish off in the top right corner to give Beechy the lead. Moorside equalised again and just before half time Aldo Gannon scored his second to edge Thunder ahead again in the first half. In the second half Ronnie Green chipped in with his second goal of the match with some great work down the right to calmly slot home and netting Thunder's fifth goal the game. Thunder were startled with 2 goals from the away team in as many minutes to make the game level but as usual the Thunder boys got back in to the game with a great strike from Gideon James making it goal number six and then also Aldo Gannon getting his final two goals, one with a delicate chip over the goalkeeper and Thunder taking the spoils for the first time this season. Special mention to Jesse Fletcher who all week at training showed what he can do and and this showed with his most improved trophy this week, Gideon James got the Player of the Match and Aldo Gannon getting parents player of the match.

**BEECHFIELD UNITED U'9s STORM v SWINTON LIONS U9*
⚽️
Jose
🅰️
James
Tough game for Storm and missing key players showed against a well bolstered Swinton Lions team who played a year up & the experience showed with Storm's unbeaten run stretching to U7's coming to an end.
Vince took captaincy, Reggie and Josh at the back with Reni & James in the middle, Jose and Arman out wide.
Started competitively with both teams battling to get the ball, neither showing a cutting edge. The ball did make its way through a few times where Vincent was on hand with some smart saves. The deadlock was broken with some lax defending as their striker was unmarked giving Vincent no chance. A couple of smart moves gave Swinton opportunities and they quickly scored their 2nd and 3rd as the defence struggled to get a grip of the game.
Storm dug deep and reacted, finally starting to get some good passing going saw Josh moving forward into midfield playing into James who in turn spun and played through Jose to finish top corner.
Some warning signs as Jose almost scored again being threaded through by Arman this time but flashing wide. Jose was by far and away the most dangerous as Josh assumed the midfield position winning the ball off the goal keeper but unable to get the shot on target.
Storm started the second half looking like they were going to get back into it, looking the most progressive - Arman ran down the wing crossing in which neither Josh or James could get on the end of. Another chance James also going for a long free kick which went wide.
However it was another defensive error from Storm's own making having the ball collected from the last man and conceding a tough goal. Swinton pressed on and made it count as Storm tired, struggling to get the ball out from the back - despite Reggie, George & Reni’s heroics at points at the back.
Stark contrast to last week though work to be done on the training ground at both ends of the pitch! The attitude was spot on to start to tide the turn.
*Parents Player*
*Josh* played excellently making important tackles, some good passing moves and when moved into midfield played well too!
*Players Player*
*Vincent* - made some excellent stops, could’ve been a bigger scoreline, showed resilience in amending for an error with some great saves and vocal throughout taking the captaincy in his stride.
*TEMPEST HURRICANES V BEECHFIELD UNITED U11s STORM
In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 11's STORM (9v9) secured their first Black Division victory of the season. Playing away at Tempest Hurricanes Beechy came out on top of a game that included eight goals. Storm's squad was Alfie, Bobby, Jacob, Oscar P, Oscar B, Harry, Isaac, George, Carter, Joshua, Redas and Jake. Parents Man of the Match Bobby plus Alfie, Carter aand Redas scored the goals.
We lost home advantage this week due to the Gypsies on Beech Farm, a last minute pitch switch saving the match from being postponed.
After a poor performance last week we knew we must improve today. There wasn't much in the first half, Jayden Lowe, Grayson Evans and Alex McGrory all forcing excellent saves from the Swinton keeper. We often struggled to clear our lines at the back however and Swinton had chances of their own, and took the lead just before half time.
2nd half we were shooting uphill on a pitch resembling Mount Everest, and Swinton began to dominate. They were awarded a penalty for handball but put it wide. They continued to press and eventually got a 2nd half way through the period and a 3rd shortly followed. We then changed system to try and get more bodies forward. The gamble failed however with Swinton grabbing 2 more goals in the last 5 minutes, before Grayson Evans scored our first goal of the season after closing down the keeper with virtually the last kick of the game.
A much improved performance this week. Despite the defeat the players ran and never gave up, just as we asked. Player of the match was close, keeper Ty Dobson did some outstanding saves but he was pipped by Sam Omoregie who played well at the back, stopping many Swinton attacks. We go again next week! Report by Frank McGrory.
*Match Report-COACH HENE 6-3 BEECHFIELD UNITED U12 STORM.
Not our best day at the office today, after a fantastic display last week confidence was high but we started as has been a theme we started a bit slow and found ourselves 2-0 down inside 10 mins. We started to play ourselves into the game a bit but we were lacking a cutting edge despite some good build up play and we were left to rue not taking advantage as we got caught on the break and Coach Hene went 3-0 up. The boys heads did go a bit down for 5 mins but we regrouped and Barkely Pope picked up the ball on the right, beat his man cut inside and tucked the ball under the keeper for 3-1. That was how the half ended.
After a stern team talk at half time it felt like the boys believed we could get back in the game and we started ok into the second half. It was very much an even half but Coach Hene scored a volley off a corner to give them daylight. We changed to 2 up top to try to find a way back in but it left us a little exposed and Coach Hene were gifted 2 goals to lead 6-1. The boys at this stage were notably frustrated, we were creating opportunities but nothing was falling our way then Max Schofield stepped up to take a free kick and nestled it top bins. That seemed to give the boys a bit of belief and Max smashed home another free kick to being the score 6-3 and that’s how it ended.
It was a strange game today, one I felt we were always in but missed a few chances and just lacked a bit up front. We will take the positives, regroup and go again next week. Report by Matt Wharton.
*BEECHFIELD UNITED U12's LIGHTNING V STALYBRIDGE CELTIC
According to Manager James Fillingham there were not many positives from this Manchester Youth Super League for Beechy LIGHTNING. Out played from start to finish Beechy barely had an effort on target. Man of the Match was easily Finlay Thompson-Hale who produced a fantastic performance at right back, he probably saved another five goals with his last ditch tackles. Lightning need to show more fight in future games or it's going to be a long season.
*PARKWYDDN JUNIORS V BEECHFIELD UNITED U13s TORNADOES
The Under 13's TORNADOES were in action against Parkwyddn Juniors and following a fine all-round display Beechy were rewarded with a 7-1 victory. Goals for the Tornadoes in this Bolton Bury and District League Section B fixture were netted by Zac McKinnon (Hat-Trick) Lucio Riva (2) Max Blood and Luke Bennett. The assists for the goals came via Archie Charles, Luke Zack and Max.
