POSTED: September 21 2019 12:53:57 By Richard James - TORNADOES V SWINTON SHARKS

Saturday 21st September, Beech Farm, 12pm KO, League.

A 3rd consecutive home game saw the Tornadoes line up, this time, against Swinton Sharks.
And for the 3rd week in a row, the Tornadoes set about their task with pace, power and precision. The difference being that both halves were treated to an explosive Tornadoes display.

The boys were truly mesmeric and inspired. Passes were being played at the right times, midfielders were tracking back, the formation shape was good and the basics were got right.

For me the only slight tarnish was the 2 goals that we conceded were down to a bit of poor marking and some sluggish defending. Unfortunately that did give the match a largely unreflective scoreline.

For large spells the boys completely dominated the play and on another day, when not up against a top class keeper, we'd have been in to double figures.

However, we did do what we had to do and ultimately it was the sheer force of will from Stewart Kay that guaranteed us the victory. Stewart also got an earlier goal and coupled with Logan's persistence that was enough to see us over the line.

Logan absolutely ran his heart out, hence he picked up the MOTM award but overall, everyone stood up to be counted.
Josh was fantastic, deputising in goals. Dylan, Colin (playing without his glasses) and Bailey were very solid in defence. The midfield of George, Martin, Oscar (1st appearance) and Stewart were full of running and never let up for the entire 50 minutes.

Indeed a special mention for Oscar Mather who made his debut and looked like he'd been with us for years. A lovely footballer with a spot on attitude!

Our best performance for some time.
Well done boys!
Oscar
