Winton Yellows 4-2 Typhoon
A beautiful morning for a game but a very disappointing result.
We started off brightly and dominated the first half but didn’t have anything to show for it. Their keeper was good but we made life too easy for him. We came out like zombies for the second half, the football stopped and it was no surprise when we conceded. The boys came out of their slumber and scored two quick goals through Cole and Charlie with the help of good work from Sam and Jamie. I could only see one winner at that stage, we’d started playing our football again and we looked very dangerous. Unfortunately, we switched off at the back, forgot to mark their players and managed to concede three. It would have been four if it hadn’t been for an excellent save from Peter. We were the rattled team now and couldn’t get back into the game.
This was definitely a game we should have won but once again we didn’t take our chances and that leaves you vulnerable. Their last three goals were awful from our perspective. Rule 1 for defending is to concentrate the entire game and rule 2 is to stay with your man. We didn’t do either and Peter ended up with back ache from picking the ball out of the net. Joseph was man of the match for another all action display in the middle.
