- Hurricanes enjoy End/Start of Season Presentation
Having completed the COVID-delayed season, trained and played friendly matches throughout the summer and waited until COVID-restrictions were lifted and everyone was available, the Beechfield Hurricanes were delighted to celebrate together at their 2020/21 End of Season Presentation.
The big awards were presented to three different players with Owen Hogben named as Player of the Year, Henry Errington awarded Players' Player of the Year and Alfie Rostron receiving the Manager's Merit Award. All three players thoroughly deserved their recognition and were delighted to receive their trophies.
All the other players (Oliver Dalton-Bunker, Fabio Figueiredo, Enzo Patrick, Dillan Caldwell, Jamie Maher, Thomas Robinson and Oliver Nangle) received medals to recognise their efforts in a challenging but pleasing season in the Salford and District League Under 12 Division 1. There were also special awards for Joshua Whitehead and Oliver Hall who both received trophies to celebrate 5 years service at Beechfield.
The event was hosted by team sponsors Eileen and Andy at The HorseShoe, Ringley and it was great to see all the players and their families enjoying the food, drink and hospitality that was on offer. The players and coaches were proud to present Eileen with a car, chocolates and a bouquet of flowers as a small token of their appreciation for all the support that The HorseShoe have given the team over the course of the season.
The event also gave the team the opportunity to welcome some of the new signings onboard with Daniel Robinson returning to the Hurricanes and Taylor Hales-Cummins, Luca Mobey, Sophiyulah Bakare, Matty Cox and Freddie Wardle all joining the squad for the season ahead in the Bolton, Bury and District Football League Under 13 Division 1.
Thanks as always to all the parents for supporting the team and to coaches Ben Robinson, Glenn Whitehead and Chris Rostron for their excellent work with a team that's going from strength to strength!
