Wednesday 17th May, Barton Road, League, KO 6.30pm.

With an opportunity to cement 5th place in the division and exact revenge for our woeful 0-8 battering in the Supp Cup, I was hopeful that the lads would be motivated.

And although we were under severe pressure right from the start, the boys held firm to see out the early pressure from our opponents. In a tough and bruising encounter, in the formative stages, the Tornadoes were brilliant in repelling wave after wave of Sharks attacks, with Enzo earning special praise for his goal saving heroics.

Coupled with Jack's confidence and concentration, the never ceasing work of Logan, Oscar and Paulo, the lads started to make some inroads. And in a rare attack, the Beechfield outfit took the lead when Josh snaffled up a spilled cross shot from Jay, wide on the right.

Holding on to half time and then playing downhill in the second half, you could see the confidence start to build in our boys. Consequently you could feel Swinton beginning to drop their heads as the Beechy boys started to take greater control of the game.

With Reece, Dylan Ce, Sonny, Rad and Jay all starting to win the 50-50 battles and not tiring, the ball started to fall more kindly for Josh. And it wasn't too long before Josh extended our lead with a great strike, from wide on the left.

Soon after, Josh came close another 3-4 times before Radwan nearly made it 3, just powering his shot slightly over the crossbar.

Late in the game, we got a corner and Radwan steered a great volley on target, with Jay making sure, to divert it over, and wrap the match up for Beechy.

All in all a great display from our lads and whilst we got a bit lucky in the early stages, we stayed disciplined, kept a clean sheet and took our chances.

Well done everyone!
Final Score:
Swinton Sharks 0 - 3 Tornadoes
