Saturday 13th April, University of Salford, U14s Plate Cup Semi-Final, KO 10am.

A fantastic, hard working and disciplined performance, from the Tornadoes was enough to secure us a 2 - 2 draw against top flight opponents, Sale United Sabres.

In what was an extremely tough and exceptionally close encounter, the Beechfiled lads acquitted themselves superbly to progress to the final.

In the first half, Radwan seized on a long through ball to slot home and give us the lead. Sadly, just before the break, Sale found parity after forcing a succession of corners.

In the second spell, the Tornadoes maintaind their brilliant standards to take the lead when Josh finished off a good pass from Finn.

Unfortunatley, the boys couldn't see the game through and fell victim to a late equalising free kick, about 3 minutes from time.

The resultant shootout again saw both teams hitting the high notes, with it being level on 5 - 5, after the requsite amount of kicks.

Penalty number 6 for Sale saw a chink of light for the Beechy boys, as the Sabres player put his effort just over the bar. Therefore with the decisive penalty, up stood Reece to send us in to the Plate Cup final, with an excellent and composed finish.

Cue great celebrations for a bunch of lads, who did us all proud!

Final Score:
Tornadoes 2 - 2 Sale United Sabres
Tornadoes win the shoot out 6 - 5.
