Saturday 17th May, Supplementary Cup Final, Group B, Wythenshawe Sports Ground, KO 15:50

In strong heat and on a rock hard pitch, the boys battled bravely against Manchester Bees.

In a mostly even contest, where both teams largely cancelled each other out, it was always going to take one moment to decide this game.

Sadly that moment came at our expense when we conceded from a corner with about 7 minutes to go.

Unfortunately, neither the Ref, nor the Linesman saw the infringement on Harley and the bundled goal was allowed to stand.

Also, regrettably, Radwan was given his marching orders after retaliating when being struck by a Bees player. This followed blatant time wasting from the Bees player, who subsequently saw red himself.

Overall, it was a very close game with both teams running their hearts out. And although I thought we were very unlucky not to take the game to penalties, if I'm honest we didn't create much, maybe 3 good chances and 2 half chances.

Bees too didn't create much, but they probably, if I'm being fair, just edged it.

In a Cup Final, you sometimes need a bit of luck and a decision or two to go your way and that just didn't happen for us.

However, I can't fault any of our players. Their attitudes, effort and workrate were spot on. And perhaps one or two could have had a better day at the office, but no one stopped trying, or puttng a shift in and that's all we can ask for!

Final Score:
Tornadoes 0 - 1 Manchester Bees Phoenix
