POSTED: April 29 2018 15:28:19 By Oscar Courtney - LIGHTNING V TORNADOES

Thursday 26th April, Beech Farm, KO 18:30, Friendly.

This was a good run out for both teams and will hopefully help Lightning in their preparations for their Supp Cup Final.

On the evidence of this display though, I can't see Lightning having much to worry about. This is a team who have been expertly coached and drilled. Their hard work, positional sense and tactical awareness mean that they are definitely going places.

As for the match itself; I think it's fair to say that Lightning had the bulk of possession and undoubtedly created the most chances and on the balance of play deserved their victory.

For us, this was our first ever 7 a side game and I thought that we acquitted ourselves quite well.

Again, there were issues with losing concentration, losing team shape and chasing the ball but, on the whole, I thought we defended very well.

For most of the game we were under the cosh so it was good to see resolute team defending and players on the whole trying to do their jobs.

If we can just get our passing game going again I think the larger pitch, with the 7 a side format, will suit us.

The Tornadoes goal came from a trademark Stewart Kay solo run and the MOTM went to Dylan Courtney for a fantastic defensive display.
