Beechfield United's 2ND TEAM players celebrated after winning the Calypso Sport Drink Plate at the Umbro International Tournament. After qualifying for the knock out phase United beat Broadway FC 3-2 in the quarter-final's then earned themselves a 7-6 victory in the semi final's following a penalty shoot-out with Blackley Alliance. In the final Mike Brierley's goal was enough to give Beechy the trophy thanks to a 1-0 win over Aspull FC. Player Manager Martin Blackshaw was delighted with the team's pre-season success and praised all the players involved for their 100% effort and team spirit they displayed during the two day event (August 2006)

Gaining their first away win of the season were the 2ND TEAM who recovered from going a goal down to beat Denton Town 2-1. The home side went ahead after only two minutes via an own goal but in reply United produced some quality football and collected three valuable points thanks to goals from Danny Rowcroft and Mike Brierley. The 3RD TEAM let slip a 3-0 lead in their home game with Whalley Range and were forced to settle for a 4-4 draw. Philip Arnold (3) and the prolific James Butcher got the goals. Andrew Traverse (3) Lewis Morrison (3) Callum Wilkinson (2) Jack Tierney (2) Jamie Sinnott, Luke Martin and Alex Walton fired in the goals when the 4TH TEAM hammered Old Chorltonians 13-0. This latest success kept United in top spot in Division E. (30/9/2006)

Josh Mulhall scored a consolation goal for the UNDER 12's in their 3-1 defeat at Moston Juniors. Producing a stunning comeback were the Under 13's who came from 4-0 down to beat Monton Amateurs 5-4. Nathan Sands-Filer (2) Lewis Payne (2) and Mark Raymond fired in the goals. The UNDER 10's extended their winning run to seven games following victory over Middleton Green. Goal scorers for Beechy were Shaun Ferguson and Joseph Crossley. Callum Fisher and Callum Warner scored the goals as the UNDER 9's STORM beat 1st Division leaders Moorside Rangers Blue. There was another stylish display from the UNDER 7's STORM who were in action against Barr Hill Diamonds. Taylor Share, Jack Davies and Ben Moseley got the goals. Connor Gambles and Aaron Bolton were the players on target in the UNDER 7's TORNADOES match with Barr Hill Aces. (14/10/2006)

Beechfield United's 1ST TEAM finally got the morale-boosting victory they had been craving for when they moved off the foot of the Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division. United produced an excellent team performance against Burnage Metro and triumphed 4-2 on the artificial surface at Salford Sports Village. Chris Ellison anmd Leon Warmington both put in stunning display's for Beechy. But Anthony Weall was the star of the show, displaying top class finishing to claim a hat-trick of goals. United dominated the early stages but were continually frustrated by the Burnage defence, which relied heavily on the off-side tactic. Beechy took the lead in the 21st minute with a Matt Little goal but Burnage Metro equalised two minutes later. United continued to enjoy long periods of possession but the visitors started to become more of a threat and Beechfield keeper Rob James showed his ability with some smart saves and safe handling. Some of United's stylish moves were ruined by the visitors off-side plan in the second half but on 58 minutes Beechy went in front again thanks to a clinical finish from Weall. It was 3-1 eight minutes later as Weall headed home from close range following a slick move involving Ellison and substitute Ben Hyland. Burnage Metro's No7 looked to be in an off-side position when he received the ball and netted their second goal to set up a tense finish. United didn't panic and created an abundance of chances with Martin Blackshaw seeing a header hit a post before Weall completed his hat-trick and the scoring in the 85th minute. (25/11/2006)

United ended a brilliant season in style when they won the Hellawell Shield following a 3-1 victory over Burnage Metro. Andrew Travers (2) and Callum Wilkinson scored the goals.

TWO GOAL LEAD THROWN AWAY.

The 1ST TEAM kicked off 2007 with a 2-2 draw at home to Hazel Grove. They produced a dazzling display in the first 45 minutes yet they looked lacklustre and disorganised throughout the second half. United opened the scoring on the artificial surface at SSV when Anthony Weall latched onto a misplaced header and lobbed the ball into the empty net. They doubled their tally in the 33rd minute when Neil O'Brien collected a fine pass from Steve Erskine glided past a lone defender and hammered the ball home from 18 yards. Hazel Grove pulled a goal back just before the interval via Lee Morris and the same player netted again early in the second half. Leon Warmington was United's Man of the Match. Going top of Division D were the 3RD TEAM who beat previous leaders Hooley Bridge Celtic 3-2 at home. In an absorbing contest goals for United came from Philip Arnold, Steven Crowe and Andrew Kennedy while Scott Fisher received the Best Player Award. The 4TH TEAM remained unbeaten when they drew 4-4 with Old Stretfordians but United were somewhat dejected because they threw away a 3-0 lead. Callum Wilkinson (2) Luke Johnston and James Brierley scored the goals. In the Altrincham Youth League United's young guns suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Cheadle Town. Kerim Jones scored for Beechy as United produced a spirited fightback after the half-time break but they were continually frustrated by the superb form of Cheadle's keeper. (6/1/2007)

On their own pitch at Salford Sports Village United's 1ST TEAM won the Manchester FA Charter Standard Adult Cup thanks to a 3-1 win over Arches FC a team from the Manchester Amateur Sunday Football League. Squad for the final was Joe Perry, Danny Rowcroft, Richard Jackson, Steven Erskine, Paul Brierley (captain) Karl Henshaw, Mike Gould, Martin Blackshaw, Mike Brierley, Luke Mather Tony Weall, Simon Taylor, Stuart Wharton, Aaron Dennis. Manager & Coach: Paul Lowe. (26/2/2007)

The 1ST TEAM were involved in a thrilling 10-goal encounter with South Manchester. This Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division clash finished level at 5-5 with both teams guilty of some woeful defending. United trailed 4-1 at one stage but they looked the side most likely to win the game when the scores were level in the final 15 minutes. Goalscorers for Beechy were Man of the Match Steve Erskine (3) and Anthony Weall (2) (March 2007)

United's 4TH TEAM were crowned Lancashire and Cheshire League Division E Champions following their 2-0 home win over Burnage Metro. United scored both their goals in the first half and they should have been three goals up before James Brierley gave them the lead in the 10th minute. As they kept the pressure on a nervous looking Burnage defence United scored again on 25 minutes when Oliver Dunn's header found the corner of the net following a corner. When Burnage did threaten with their long ball tactic United's back four of Jamie Sinnott, Alex Walton, Luke Martin and Luke Johnston defended magnificently. The second half was less exciting and Burnage made United work much harder but the visitors never looked capable of getting a goal. (April 2007)

The UNDER 9s Tornados created a bit of history for the club by taking part in the first silent fixture in the region. In this type of game, no form of criticism was allowed from fans or coaches, who were only permitted to communicate with the players before the game and at half time. For the record United defeated Moorside Green 2-1 via goals from William Holliday and Ben Lockett. (April 2007)

In the North Bury Junior League the UNDER 15s celebrated after winning the Supplementary Cup. In an absorbing final played at Salford City's ground United beat Puma Hawks 4-2 after extra time. The goals came via Marvin Mayo, Ben Rothwell, Andy Hill and Kyle Mears. Seven days earlier the team's met in a league game and Puma Hawks beat United 7-0.

In the City of Salford Soccer League the UNDER 12s lost 4-1 to Middleton Boys in the Supplementary Cup final. United who trailed 3-0 at half time were by far the better team in the second period and deserved more than the consolation goal given to them by Jason Wood. The match referee chose Matt Holloway as Beechy's Man of the Match but United Manager Shane Flanagan gave his vote to Conrad Lee.
