Old Trafford Juniors v Beechfield United U/11's Storm

*U11s STORM were looking for our fifth win on the bounce away at Old Trafford. Beechy started the game like a freight train, on the front foot causing havoc and took the lead after some great work in midfield by Joel Momoh who played a square ball to Ismail Adetona who smashed home from the edge of the box. Beechy carried on pressing and were two goals up after a sublime solo effort from Ismail, picking the ball up on half way, beating 2 defenders before rounding the keeper and slotting home. It looked like it could be an easy day but Old Trafford are a good side and they pulled one back through a bit of luck via a deflected free kick and only 1 min later they equalised after a flowing move down the left. The game was end to end at this stage with both keepers being tested but it was two goals each at half time.

Into the second half and it was a little more cagey with Beechy just about edging it and were rewarded when Ismail broke down the left, squared a lovely ball across to Denholm who slotted home to give us the lead. At this stage Beechy looked comfortable but a momentary lapse at the back saw their striker nip in and pop the keeper for the equaliser.

It was a fantastic game of football, two well matched teams and played in great spirit.

Man of the Match was Ismail acetone with 2 goals and an assist, and could’ve had a few more.

*Beechfield Utd U11 Tornadoes v Stretford Victoria Albion

Beechy U/11's TORNADOES again faced Stretford having beaten them once and had a draw in recent weeks. We started well, Grayson Evans gave us the lead with a great finish from the right after an error at the back from Stretford. We really should have been 3 or 4 up in this period of dominance. Grayson was unlucky, hitting the crossbar with a lob, and a Jayden Lowe shot inches wide being the most memorable of countless chances. Stretford then scored with their first shot when their player ran through from midfield taking it past 5 Beechy players unchallenged, and then scored a second moments later when the same player did virtually the same thing again. The two quick goals changed the game and Stretford all of a sudden found confidence. We equalized just before half time when Alex McGrory had a shot saved but the ball fell to Grayson Evans who slotted home, to level it at the break.

In the 2nd half with the slope against us we found ourselves two goals down after more questionable defending. Jayden Lowe pulled one back for us and we were pushing for the equaliser. Mason Stockton was played through on the left and showed good strength to get past his marker, before being rugby tackled to the floor in the box when clean through. Bizarrely, no penalty was given, not the first time we have suffered a horrendous call from an official at a key point in the game. Unfortunately after this decision our heads seemed to drop and rather than pushing on for the equaliser, we conceded a 5th.

Player of the Match was Grayson Evans, scored 2 excellent goals, unlucky not to get a hat trick, and was a menace throughout.
