POSTED: April 09 2018 22:20:27 By Keith Long - Utd Complete League Fixtures With Revenge Win

Completing their Division 1 fixtures were Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior Team who were away to Baguley Athletic. Thanks to a 4-0 victory United gained revenge after losing 5-1 to their opponents seven days earlier. With some of last weeks missing players available Beechy had a strong line-up on view and they quickly dictated the pace of the game. United had numerous chances to take the lead but due a combination of poor finishing and several great saves by the Baguley keeper Beechy had to settle for a 0-0 score line at the break. But it took United just five minutes after the restart to make the vital breakthrough when a cross field pass into the oppositions penalty box by right back John Bolton found Max Leonard who fired the ball first time into the top corner of the net. After more quality football Beechy added their second goal in the 65th minute after Max Leonard in a one-on-one with the keeper calmly slotted the ball home for 2-0.

Beechy were now well on top and forcing some serious defending from Baguley Athletic added their third goal three minutes later. Playing in midfield Jacob Seddon was a big influence on United's performance and Beechy forced another corner that resulted in Max Leonard producing a delightful back heel for his hat trick. United's keeper Chris Pollock started the move that ended with Beechy's fourth goal about four minutes from the end. Following a corner to Baguley Athletic Chris showed a safe pair of hands when collecting the ball and he quickly threw it out to Roy Owen who turned and played a superb pass behind the Baguley defence for Max Leonard who had timed his excellent run into the area and United's ace marksman completed the scoring with another first-class finish. Max shared the Man of the Match award with Jacob Seddon.
