Beechfield Storm came out on top in another goal-filled battle, edging Winton Fusion in a nail-biting game full of crucial moments.
First Half
Storm took the lead early with Ollie finishing off a nice move, assisted by Jaxx.
Theo then stepped up in goal with a number of strong saves to keep the momentum going.
Reni doubled the lead with a composed finish before Winton hit back quickly to reduce the arrears.
A second (VAR!) Winton goal followed to level things up again,
Storm responded well, and a pinpoint corner from Jett found Louie, who slotted home to give Storm the lead at the break.
Second Half
Reni was called into action in goal with a key save, followed by a dramatic goal-line scramble that kept Storm in front. Moments later, Ollie teed up Archie for a well-taken goal to stretch the lead.
Winton, however, refused to back away, scoring twice in quick succession to draw level again.
With the game hanging in the balance, Jett delivered when it mattered, finding the net to regain the lead and seal a hard-earned win for Storm.
The boys struggled slightly with the early kick-off and at times forgot to apply things from training, but they still battled through and got the win. There was great footwork, strong work in goal and encouraging communication between players — all signs of progress as the team continues to learn and grow.
