- Junior Section Match Details 16/4/2022
Just a handful of fixtures went ahead in the Junior Section during the Easter Holiday weekend and all Beechy teams in action had home games.
*In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 16's Storm made a slow start in their Section C encounter with Cherrybrook Rangers and Beechy went a goal down. It took Storm at least twenty minutes to get a foothold in the match with Evan Hodson-Griffiths going close before Ben Delaney from the edge of the area scored Beechy's equaliser. Storm started to create more chances and after a scramble took a 2-1 lead through Evan Hodson-Griffiths but Cherrybrook responded and equalised just before half time. The second half was nip and tuck and both teams had chances before Cherrybrook via a breawaway move went 3-2 up. In the final minutes as Beechy pushed more players forward looking for an equaliser Cherrybrook added a fourth goal which guaranteed the visitors the victory. Leo Barratt who worked tiressely for the team was voted Man of the Match.
*Beechy Under 10's Thunder were supposed to be playing neighbours Moorside Rangers Reds in an official Salford and Districts League fixture but the teams played a friendly due to Rangers not having enough players available. Thunder struggled as they tried to get their normal passing game into gear and found themselves four goals down at half time and though Beechy were more competitive after the break they rarely threatened to find a way past the Rangers keeper. Voted Thunder's Man of the Match was Mohammed Edris.
*At Beech Farm the Under 8's Storm entertained Parkwyddn Predators but following a low-key display Beechy lost this 5v5 mini-soccer game. Harry Wharton who scored Storm's consolation goal was also named Man of the Match.
*There was a rearranged game between Beechy Under 7's Storm and Salford Storm Lightning and the Beechy Boys knew they faced a tough twenty minutes each way. Storm's opponents who have only lost one game so far this season took a commanding lead but once Beechy settled down they got back into the match. Storm passed the ball very well and Team Manager Ryan Pugh was very impressed with the players attitude as they battled all the way to the final whistle. On target for Beechy who were rewarded with a couple of goals were Oscar Pugh and Alfie Heighway.
