Another away game for the Thunder boys on another bright Saturday morning against a new opponent in Flixton Dragons. The game starting very evenly contested with both teams trying to find early goal scoring chances. Ralph and Che were looking hungry to get in amongst the goals both having some shooting opportunities but Flixton were defending well. Angelo and Elliot started to get down the wings and fire in some great passes aswell as defensive tackles when on the back foot. Flixton managed to take the lead against the run of play with a a deflected shot that just looped over Bobby and over the goal line. Thunder continued with the pressing play and the introduction of José paid off after his pressure on the Flixton defender gave him a chance in on goal and he finished brilliantly into the bottom corner followed with a trademark CR7esk celebration ⚡. Into the second half both Declan and Elliot were finding plenty of gaps to explore and passing neatly into Ralph who was finding space and playing some good passes towards José. Ralph nearly put Thunder into the lead with a great effort from the edge of the box that fortunately for the Flixton keeper flew straight at him otherwise it was a certain second for Thunder, Thunder kept the pressure on and defended well when needed and it was Che who found the winner with a neat finish from a tight angle inside the box ⚡. A well deserved win for the lads on a warm day they battled well and we're unlucky not to score on a couple of more occasions.
Man of the Match - Ralph, a constant thorn for Flixton today making menacing runs and also playing some nice passes in the final third ⚡.
