Twice within less than forty eight hours the Under 16's Storm played Division 1 games against AFC Monton Jets. On Thursday evening goals by Tom Gorton and Callum Lomax were scant consolation for Beechy who suffered a 6-2 defeat. But following the Saturday morning match the Storm earned themselves a more satisfactory result via a 2-2 draw. There was a goal apiece for Tom Hobson and Man of the Match Tom Gorton.
A fantastic hard working display from Joe Mountcastle earned him the Under 13's Tornadoes Man of the Match award following their away game at AFC Salford Juniors. Beechy who lost this Division 2 fixture 8-2 scored a goal in each half through Ronan Courtney and Ben Kay younger brother of teammate Alan.
Also in Division 2 Beechy Under 13's Thunder were in action at Salford Sports Village in a midweek game and made a poor start against their physical opponents AFC Salford Juniors. AFC Salford Juniors who quickly dominated the early stages of the match put Thunder under intense pressure and Beechy were 3-0 down after twenty five minutes. Due to an unfortunate injury to Callum Snaith Thunder were reduced to ten players and with no substitutes available it was a real backs to the wall job. But displaying true grit and determination Beechy showed a real fighting spirit and were rewarded with a goal from Prince Idusuyi that made it 3-1 at half time. Within the opening ten minutes of the second half Thunder could easily have got back level had they not squandered far too many chances. Beechy kept the pressure on their opponents and with Callum Snaith back on the pitch got a second goal when Callum set-up Prince Idusuyi who added the finish for 3-2. AFC Salford Juniors picked up the tempo again and created a few chances but Thunder produced some great defending and the match was end to end during the last fifteen minutes. Despite conceding a fourth goal Thunder continued to play some attractive football and were winning the 50-50 tackles in midfield. Once again Prince Idusuyi showed his strength when he won the ball high up the pitch and catching the AFC Salford Juniors defenders off guard reduced the arrears to just one goal via his hat trick. The comeback was completed with five minutes to go after William Whipday went on a surging run from the halfway line and produced a decisive finish making it 4-4 as he ended the scoring.
In their Supplementary Tournament home game with Deans Youth Tigers the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) played some good attacking football at times and held a one goal lead until their opponents equalised with seven minutes remaining. The teams faced a penalty kick decider but the Tornadoes lost the shoot-out. On target with United's only goal in normal time was Jack Fitton.
There were two games in three days for the Under 12's Storm (9v9) who's midweek Division 1 fixture against Ashton-on-Mersey ended in defeat with Man of the Match Ben Delaney netting Beechy's only goal. On Saturday the Storm were away to Barr Hill Aces and unfortunately lost again. Tanwab Ogenue scored United's consolation goal and Jayden Okoli was voted Man of the Match.
The Under 11's Typhoon (9v9) returned to form in their friendly match against Deans Panthers. There were hat tricks for both Charlie Harris and Freddie Latham plus a goal apiece for Daniel Hesketh, Cole Winstanley, Milonga Mututa and Man of the Match Harley Bentley.
On Sunday at Beech Farm Playing Fields the Under 11's Lightning (9v9) met Manchester Maccabi Phoenix in the Supplementary Tournament and Beechy were winners following a twelve goal thriller. Man of the Match David Olidoy, Kyle Stafford, Robert Harris and Mikey Sylvester scored the goals.
*It was celebration time for the Under 10's Hurricanes who achieved their first official victory of a difficult season. In the Supplementary Tournament Beechy were at home to Davyhulme Park JFC and won the tie by the odd goal in seven. Kacey Horrocks collected the Man of the Match award and goals from Harrison Tinald, Lloyd Hiles and Oliver Sheridan guaranteed the victory*
Michael Walsh and Joshua Kilfoyle were on target for the Under 10's Storm who organised a 9v9 friendly match with De La Salle. Voted the Storm's Star Player was Edward Lucas.
Faced with a penalty-shoot out at the end of their Supplementary Tournament E game with Deans Sports were the Under 9's Hurricanes. The teams shared four goals following normal time with Oliver Hall and Jaiesh Devani-White on target for Beechy. Man of the Match for the Hurricanes who lost on penalties was Alfie Latham. Squad for the game was Daniel Robinson, Oliver Dalton-Bunker, Oliver Hall, Jamie Maher, Jaiesh Devani-White, Prestley Smith, Sean Cosgrove, Matthew Elliott, Alfie Latham, Dillan Caldwell and Joshua Whitehead.
After two weeks without a game the Under 9's Tornadoes were glad to be playing again and Beechy secured a deserved win over neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow in the Supplementary Tournament. For the second game in a row Ebosele Oguname got a hat trick but Ethan Harris went one better with his third hat trick in successive fixtures.
Following their Development Group Green Division away game at Winton Wanderers the Under 8's Lightning suffered a rare defeat. Deenraj Singh and Man of the Match Charlie Swift scored goals for Beechy who didn't hit top form in what proved to be a close contest.
Another Beechy team faced with two games in three days were the Under 8's Tornadoes. In midweek in the Supplementary Tournament United lost their away game with Old Trafford. The players involved were Oliver Wood, Dylan Courtney, Daire Cox, George Wadeson, Stewart Kay, Logan McFeely and Flinn Rogers. Saturday morning's cup tie was at home against Swinton Junior Tigers and voted Best Player was Flinn Rogers.
Away to Barr Hill Aces in the Supplementary Tournament the Under 8's Storm produced a lacklustre performance. Beechy who's Man of the Match was Riley Haney had several goal scoring chances during the tie.
A hat trick from Harry Wallis in the first half was not enough to secure a victory for the Under 7's Storm. In the Development Group Blue Division Beechy didn't play as well in the second half and opponents De La Salle eventually won the game.
