- Midweek Junior Games 8th/10th April 2019
Two days after suffering a heavy defeat in the Supplementary Cup Beechfield United Under 12's Lightning (9v9) were back in action in the same competition. On Monday evening at Beech Farm Playing Fields United secured a 2-0 victory over Boothstown Clarets. Man of the Match David Olidoy scored both goals in what turned out to be a very good all-round team performance.
Beechy Under 10's Hurricanes met neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellows on Wednesday evening and recovered from a goal down to win an exciting Supplementary Competition encounter. Both teams battled throughout for a chance to be in the final and the game was a fantastic spectacle for everyone who watched the match. Hurricanes conceded the opening goal after only five minutes following a superbly executed free kick and it took Beechy a while to settle into the contest. With ten minutes to go in the first half Man of the Match Jamie Maher netted the equaliser after a great run down the right wing. Starting the stronger of the two teams in the second half Hurricanes created a number of scoring opportunities and eventually were rewarded with their match winning goal. Alfie Rostron won the ball just inside the halfway line and at the end of a fantastic solo run supplied the perfect finish that earned Beechy a well deserved victory. This was a well fought cup-tie with both teams contributing highly to a terrific game of mini-soccer.
