- 1-0 Defeat But Wrong Decision Cost United Dearly
On Saturday 15th April 2017 at Salford Sports Village Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior team were robbed of at least a draw following their First Division fixture with current league leaders AFC Middleton. A strong wind blew down the middle of the Astroturf Pitch and this gave a big advantage in each half to the attacking team. After a corner AFC Middleton grabbed the lead in the thirty eighth minute that eventually secured them a 1-0 victory. Playing some superb football Beechy dominated the second half but couldn't find the finish to some clear cut chances. Late in the game a move involving Roy Owen and Scott Foulds ended with the latter forcing the ball into the net but the referee failed to award the goal admitting he believed the ball hadn't fully crossed the line. In a solid all-round display there were excellent performances from Ben Donohue, Wes Pierce and Tim McQueeney.
