- U/10's Storm & U/15's Tornadoes April Update
Returning to Salford and Districts League and Bolton Bury and District League action following the lockdown were Beechy Under 10's Storm and Under 15's Tornadoes.
The Under 10's kick-off on Saturday 3rd April against AFC Burnden Park Tigers and in a game where Beechy were a lot more involved in the second half the teams shared four goals. Storm's goal scorers were Roman Sandaji and Harry Wallis and named Man of the Match was Connor O'Sullivan.
The match seven days later with Old Trafford Juniors was evenly balanced throughout and after a competitive encounter Beechy celebrated a victory with the winning goal coming in the final minutes. Storm's goalkeeper Reuben Wardle who produced a strong and confident performance made numerous great saves and was voted the teams Best Player. Timothy Badewa, Harry Wallis and Roman Sandaji who netted a rebound off the keeper who had saved Ethan Seddon's swerving effort were on target.
On 17/4/2021 Storm's opponents were Moorside Rangers Reds who attacked with real intent from the outset and Beechy didn't match their rivals all-round display. For his work rate, creating goal scoring opportunities and intelligent use of the ball Harry Wallis earned himself the Man of the Match award.
Resuming their fixtures in the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 15's Tornadoes were at home to Leigh Genesis. In a close game throughout Beechy looked a bit rusty and gave the ball away far too easily and gifted Leigh Genesis a couple of goals. Tornadoes work ethic was good and despite missing several good chances deserved at least a draw rather than suffering a 4-3 defeat. Man of the Match was Harry Officer and on target with the goals were Bradley Oliver (2 including 1 penalty) and Louis Khalil.
Two weeks later Beechy Beechy played the reverse fixture with Leigh Genesis and once again Tornadoes made simple mistakes as they failed to retain possession. Beechy did hold the lead at one stage but after sharing a 3-3 score line at half time at the final whistle were on the wrong end of an 8-3 result. Louis Khalil who's 100% work rate earned him the Star Player award scored two goals while Bradley Oliver netted the other goal.
Hindley Juniors were Beechy's opponents on Wednesday evening 21st April and after taking the lead in this Section D home game the Tornadoes eventually secured a 4-2 victory. Bradley Oliver who had an excellent ninety minutes was one of the goal scorers alongside Louie Khalil (2) and Jamie Holland.
