- Junior Section Match Details 26th/27th April 2025
Making it six games unbeaten in the Salford and Districts Junior League were Beechfield United Under 8's Tornadoes.
*The Under 8's TORNADOES were away to Deans Youth Lions and were the winners of an eleven goal thriller. In this Yellow Group game Beechy were denied a bigger winning margin by the in-form Deans keeper who made several brilliant saves. The Tornadoes squad for the game was Bodie Morrison, Cormac Tobin, Oscar Hall, Arlo McFarlane, Bryce Carroll, Ronnie Sangster, Billy Boyd and Brayden Gilligan. Goals for Beechy came via Billy and Brayden.
*Beechy Under 9s THUNDER took on Salford Storm Tornadoes on a fantastic morning for football at Beech Farm. Whilst spending the majority of the first half in their opponents half of the pitch Thunder found goals hard to come by. But shortly before half time Beechy made the breakthrough with a spectacular goal by Harrison Spencer. The second half saw the floodgates open when Chase Sixsmith ran onto a through ball and chipped it over the keeper into the empty net. Tiffany Kandemiri scored Thunder's third and fourth goals then Harrison Spencer with a carbon copy of his first goal increased the lead. At this point Beechy forgot about the defending part of football and Salford Storm were basically gifted two goals but Thunder responded and were guaranteed the win when Tiffany Kandemiri completed her hat-trick and the scoring. Grayson Owen was outstanding at the back, sometimes defending on his own and outnumbered against several counter-attacks. But Player of the Match was Antonio Embalo who has found his preferred position as a flying wing back, constantly attacking the right hand side.
*Also in action at Beech Farm Playing Fields were the Under 10's STORM who had a local derby game with Moorside Rangers Blue. In the Red Group Beechy produced some exciting attacking football and were rewarded with a high scoring victory. Storm's squad was Seth Barber, Alfie Heighway, Bobby Lowe, Harry Heathcote-Clare, Jacob Foster, Oscar Pugh, Oscar Bobby-Berry, Harry Chambers, Isaac Hargreaves and goalkeper George Savage. The Man of the Match awards chosen by the Team Coach and the Players Parents went to Bobby Lowe and Harry Chambers. Goalscorers from Beechy were Seth, Alfie, Bobby and Isaac and providing the assists were Harry and Seth.
*In the Manchester Youth Super League's the Under 11's LIGHTNING (9v9) met Chadderton Vipers at the central venue. The Beechy Boys produced another good performance but didnt get the result they wanted. Lightning started well, good passing plus superb workrate and looking dangerous were rewarded when they took the lead. Kayson Gregg was on target from close range when he opened the scoring after a neat passing move from the team and after creating many more chances Beechy should have been further ahead but it wansn't to be. Lightning conceded two sloppy goals, one direct from a corner then another through a lack of concentration and despite feeling sorry for themselves Beechy deserved more from the game. Lightning Manager James Fillingham said it seems like the same story every week, the team play really well but just fall short by the odd goal. Man of the Match was Henry Dunn who worked his socks off plus his link-up play was excellent.
*There was no official league fixture for Beechy Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) so a friendly match was arranged with Roach Dynamos. It was well done to the Beechy Boys who really impressed with how the way they played and kept going throughout the game. Following a goalless first half the Tornadoes found themselves 2-0 down early in the second half with both goals coming against the run of play. The Tornadoes then stepped up a gear and as they pushed hard to get back into the contest were rewarded when they reduced the arrears thanks to a great finish by Luke Bennett. After being introduced into the action Ralph Phillips produced the highlight of the game via his fantastic strike that made it 2-2. Then in the final few minutes a pass from Luke found Kian Murphy and he calmy chipped the ball over the keeper from outside the area for the Tornadoes winning goal and the celebrations after the goal showed how close the players have bonded during the season. All the team worked hard for each other in what was a tough game against difficult opponents. Man of the Match went to Blake Salmon voted for by all his teammates who appreciated his performance at the back alongside Tyler AcKernley. Luke was praised by one of the parents and Ralph's display was spot-on but the whole team contributed to this very good performance.
*Following three weeks without a game the Under 15's TORNADOES were glad to be playing again in the Salford and Districts Junior League. In Division 2 the Tornadoes were away at Parkwyddn Predators and they won the game 1-0. On target for Beechy late in the second half was Oscar Mather while some inspired goalkeeping by Harley Finemore saw the Tornadoes pocket the three points to keep the pressure on the league leaders.
