A superb 6-1 away victory against Tonge FC secured the Under 15’s Tornadoes their place in the final of the Players Cup. With the wind behind them and playing up the slope the Tornadoes created some high-quality football and just before the ten minute mark opened the scoring when Keane Walton set-up Joseph Furlong and he produced an in-form strikers finish. Totally dominating the match United outplayed their opponents and added another three goals all scored by Joseph Furlong and although Joseph takes the plaudits for Beechy going 4-0 up all his team mates deserve as much credit. There were master class displays from Harry Cottrill and Nick Crawshaw who constantly won possession and created numerous chances. Substitute Aren Withington was introduced and was soon involved in the action. Charlie James and Keiran Alley worked hard and supplied some great crosses while Kurtis Taylor proved to be a handful for the overworked Tonge defenders. Troy Walker, Daniel Wright, Tom Nelson and Cameron Peacock continually frustrated Tonge’s attacking trio and Mason White displayed intelligent use of the ball. Briefly in the second half Beechy keeper Ethan Gannon who was virtually a spectator was beaten when Tonge got their consolation goal but United quickly regained control and took a 5-1 lead via Joseph Furlong’s fifth goal then Lucas Morgan completed the scoring.

The Under 11’s Thunder (9v9) played Barr Hill Hearts for the fourth time this season. In this Development Group Red Division away game United made a slow start and had to recover from going a goal down but the Beechy players didn’t panic and playing some attractive football knew they would create chances. The Barr Hill keeper was constantly involved and he was eventually beaten when a shot by Harvey Walker deflected off a defender for the equaliser. Beechy continued to produce some great soccer with every player giving 100% effort and though Barr Hill produced some courageous defending United took the lead courtesy of Prince Idusuyi. Then Samuel Oludoyi capped off a solid and disciplined performance with Beechy’s third goal.

On an Astroturf pitch at Moorside High School the Under 10’s Storm shared six goals with Moorside Rangers Red. Once United had recovered from the shock of conceding three goals they started to play some neat football and reduced the arrears through Tawonga Chirwa. In the second half the Storm were better organised and goals from Harrison Davies and Johnny Walsh completed a great comeback. Elliott McClurg-Taylor was the team’s Star Player.

There were goals galore in the Development Group Green fixture involving Beechy Under 9’s Lightning and Prestwich Junior Dragons. Man of the Match Sam Henderson, Charlie Harris, William Anderton, Joshua Harris and Matthew Cory were on target as United reached double figures.

Man of the Match Reilly Happy, Ben Morris, Tom Worthington and Georgi Georgiev got the goals for the Under 9’s Hurricanes who produced a strong performance in their Friendly Match with a Radcliffe Borough team.

Despite some excellent attacking football the Under 9’s Typhoon struggled to convert the chances created into goals. They relied heavily on goalkeeper Peter Ellis who made some fantastic saves in the away game against Flixton Cougars. Sonny O’Brien hammered home a free kick and Jamie Withington added a second goal but Beechy lost the match. Best Player following another non-stop quality display was Joseph Bothamley.

The Development Group Purple fixture between Beechy Under 9’s Storm and Ladybridge Lightning proved to be a great game that ended as a score draw. Beechy keeper George Heywood was in top-form, Cade Gibson scored United’s equalising goal and voted Man of the Match was Cole Winstanley.

Leading goalscorer Joshua Kilfoyle and Man of the Match Michael Walsh scored the goals for the Under 8’s Storm who met neighbours Moorside Rangers Green at Beech Farm Playing Fields.

Ethan Harris helped himself to a hat-trick in the Under 7’s Hurricanes Development Group Red Division away game with AFC Monton Tigers. Keeper Lloyd Hiles saved a penalty and despite carrying an injury Lexi Hiles played throughout and collected a deserved Player of the Match Award.

Away at Barr Hill Diamonds the Under 7’s Tornadoes produced a stunning fight back after finding themselves three goals down. Man of the Match Fletcher Jackson, Blake Kerrigan, Harvey Riva and Anthony Hughes scored the goals for Beechy who shared a ten goal score line.

After travelling to play Urmston Town Dragons the Under 7’s Storm were involved in a low scoring contest. In the Development Group Yellow Division Henry Jones was on target for Beechy and Matthew Cox received the Man of the Match Award.
