In the Timperley and District Junior League Beechfield United Under 16’s played three successive Division 1 home games. Against Wythenshawe Amateurs Beechy created a fine all-round display but failed to turn mumerous chances into goals and lost the match 2-0. Named Best Player was Daniel Hickey. On Thursday evening United entertained Irlam Rangers at Stott Lane and guilty of a below-par performance suffered a 5-3 defeat. Bradley Hodges, Callum Frier and Mason Gregg fired in the goals while Tom Haslem was Man of the Match. But the Under 16’s re-discovered the winning formula thanks to a 3-1 win over Old Stretfordians who were leading 1-0 at half time. Beechy took control in the second half and Bradley Hodges was on target twice to give United a deserved lead and dominating the contest Beechy were awarded a penalty and Man of the Match Bradley Hodges completed his hat-trick and the scoring via the resulting spot-kick.

After recently winning the Sunday Challenge Cup the Under 15’s Predators made it through to the Tameside Sunday League Cup final following a 4-1 semi-final victory against Atherton Town. At one stage the Predators trailed 1-0 but they bounced back and had levelled the score by half time. On a rain soaked pitch the Beechy boys dominated the second half and were thoroughly deserved winners at the final whistle. Brandon Kent, Liam Egerton, Jamie Pollitt and George Davies fired in the goals and after a star-studded display Damilola Sansui collected the Man of the Match Accolade. Previously on Wednesday evening the Predators kept their JFC Sports Division title hopes alive when the met Woodbank JFC. Leading 3-0 at half time Beechy were guaranteed the three points courtesy of a 5-0 victory. On target were Liam Egerton (2) Brandon Kent, Jace Winspear and George Davies who shared the Best Player Award with Liam Egerton.

The Under 15’s Tornadoes hit double figures in their Section C fixture with Heaton Dene. Keiran Alley (4) Mason White (3) Charlie James (2) Joseph Furlong, Kurtis Taylor and Tom Nelson got the goals as Beechy made it five games unbeaten in the Bolton Bury and District Football League. Earlier in the week Beechy beat Tonge FC 4-2 away thanks to a first-class display and goals from Mason White (2) Kurtis Taylor and Harry Cottrill.

At Bolton Road Playing Fields the Under 14’s Storm’s topsy-turvy season continued in the home game with Manchester Maccabi. Despite an evenly balanced seventy minutes it was the visitors who eventually won this Division 1 match 2-1. United’s consolation goal was scored by Tyler Davies and voted Man of the Match was Will Timmins.

Beechy Under 13’s Tornadoes were at home to Division 1 leaders Barr Hill Diamonds who haven’t dropped a point all season. Barr Hill took the lead on the quarter-hour mark and went 2-0 up five minutes later. Beechy worked hard to contain their talented opponents and restricted them to just a handful of chances until an excellent strike from thirty yards gave Barr Hill a third goal. The visitors made it 4-0 via an own goal then keeping control raced into a 6-0 lead but Beechy were rewarded with a well-deserved consolation goal. A great move involved Ellis Taylor and Charlie Ryan who curled the ball around a Barr Hill defender for Leighton White who superbly lobbed it over the keeper and into the empty net. Joe Bardsley was the team’s Star Player.

Following a top of the table clash the Under 12’s Storm’s (9v9) Division 1 title hopes faded somewhat when the lost 3-1 away to De La Salle Devils. Harry Gartley netted United’s consolation goal and Jordan Booth received the Best Player Honour.

Away to Barr Hill Cubs in the Development Group Yellow Division the Under 10’s Tornadoes were winners of an eleven goal thriller. Jack Fitton earned himself the Star Player Award and goals for the Tornadoes came courtesy of Harley Davidson, Kaiden McClean and Charlie Mulvenna.

Producing another top-class performance were in in-form Under 9’s Hurricanes who travelled to play Woodbank JFC. Ben Morris, Dominic Roaden, Reilly Happy, Josh Clough and Georgi Georgiev got the goals and sharing the Man of the Match Award were Ben Morris and Oliver Coles.

The Under 8’s Hurricanes had a midweek fixture with local rivals Moorside Rangers. The teams created an entertaining contest that included ten goals. Goalkeeper Alfie Girdlestone produced a great Man of the Match display and goals for the Hurricanes came via Brett McWilliams, Jayden Walker, Cobey McCormack plus an own goal.

Barr Hill Hearts were the Under 7’s Hurricanes opponents in the Development Group Red Division. In a polished performance by the Hurricanes Ethan Harris, Lexi Hiles and Dylan Robinson who was named Man of the Match got the goals.

The Development Group Yellow in-house derby game between the Under 7’s Storm and Under 7’s Tornadoes was played in a great spirit. Both teams contributed to a brilliant 5v5 mini-soccer contest. Man of the Match Kylan Twigg and Matthew Cox scored goals for the Storm while Fletcher Jackson and Jacob Kershaw-Schilling replied for the Tornadoes who’s Best Player was goalkeeper Reece Cartwright who saved a penalty.

United’s Under 17’s played for only the second time in five weeks in the North Bury Junior Football League and a lack of match practice contributed to a 2-0 home defeat by top of the table outfit Rossendale Valley Tigers. Malik Abdulgabar collected the Man of the Match Award.
