- Junior Section Match Details 2nd/3rd Dec 2017
In the Bolton and District League Beechfield United Under 17's Tornadoes went five points clear at the top of the Section B table. At Stott Lane Beechy were at home to Seedfield Sports and thanks to goals from Kai Mitchell and Joe Furlong the Tornadoes took a 2-0 lead but the visitors reduced the arrears before half time. There were incidents galore in the second half and Seedfield Sports who found an equalising goal were ready to settle for a draw but Kai Mitchell secured a 3-2 win for Beechy when he scored his second and the Tornadoes match winning goal with just two minutes remaining.
Playing on Sunday morning were Beechy Under 16's Storm who made it five games unbeaten in the Salford and District League following a 7-4 victory over Manchester Maccabi Broughton. After securing the three points the Storm moved up to third place in the Division 1 table. Goals for Beechy were shared between Man of the Match Marcus Belcher, Callum Lomax, Aaron Gartley, Tom Gorton and Tyler Davies.
The Under 15's Tornadoes recovered from 2-1 down at half time in their Bolton Bury and District League Section B fixture with Turton Tigers. Finding an extra gear in the second period Beechy were eventually rewarded with a 4-3 victory. Goals for the Tornadoes came via Ademola Olasanya (2) Jeanny Le Blanc and Man of the Match Leighton White.
At home to Prestwich FC Meerkats the Under 14's Tornadoes totally dominated this Bolton Bury and District League Section E game that secured an emphatic 5-0 win. United's five different goal scorers were Billy Wadeson, Fernley Davies, Matthew Bennett, Harry Fletcher and Man of the Match Max O'Brien who dedicated his goal to his late Grandma and after securing the victory the Tornadoes were up to third place in the table.
That elusive first win of the season continues to by-pass the Under 13's Tornadoes who were credited with a great first half display in their home game against Flixton Junior Hawks. But the Tornadoes performance after the break in this Division 2 fixture was less than impressive and they suffered an 8-0 defeat.
In action on Sunday morning were the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) who met Manchester Maccabi Cubs at Beech Farm Playing Fields. Beechy extended their impressive unbeaten run in the Salford and District league to five games and the Tornadoes currently occupy second spot in the Division 2 table. After conceding the opening goal the Tornadoes fought back and maintaining control of the match were able to secure a 3-2 victory. Charlie Mulvenna who was voted Man of the Match scored two goals and but for a missed penalty would have been celebrating a deserved hat-trick. Alex Effio was on target with the other goal for the Tornadoes who face a couple of tough games but the Beechy boys who are having an excellent season will obviously be well prepared.
After three weeks without a game the Under 12's Storm (9v9) were back playing again in the Salford and District League with a Division 1 home fixture against Barr Hill Diamonds who won the match. Johnny Walsh was named the Storm's Best Player.
A cracking end to end Challenge Tournament cup tie between Beechy Under 11's Typhoon (9v9) and Swinton Junior Cobras was decided by the last kick of the game. Unfortunately it was Swinton Cobras who got the winning but the Typhoon did not deserve to lose. Cole Winstanley, Joseph Bothamley and Man of the Match Daniel Hesketh scored goals for Beechy.
David Olidoy and Kyle Stafford got the goals for the Under 11's Lightning (9v9) who had a Sunday away game with Manchester Maccabi Wildcats. In the Challenge Tournament Beechy who won by the odd goal in three voted Liam Peers as their Star Player.
Beechy Under 11's Storm (9v9) saw their seven game unbeaten run in the Salford and District League come to an end. Away to a more determined Moorside Rangers Yellow outfit in the Challenge Tournament poor defending and indiscipline cost the Storm dearly. Man of the Match was Reece James.
Both Under 9's teams had Challenge Tournament fixtures on Saturday morning. The Under 9's Tornadoes were away to Salford United Vipers and played throughout with just seven players. Those seven lads worked really hard and put on an excellent all-round performance. In a thrilling victory for Beechy the goals came from Anthony Hughes, Ethan Harris and Oliver Nangle while Man of the Match was Matty Cox.
The Under 9's Hurricanes opponents for their cup tie were Deans Youth Sports who narrowly won the match. Daniel Robinson scored the Hurricanes only goal and Dillan Caldwell received the Best Player Award. The Hurricanes squad was: Dillan Caldwell, Oliver Dalton-Bunker, Jamie Maher, Alfie Latham, Oliver Hall, Jaiesh Devani-White, Matthew Elliott, Prestley Smith, Daniel Robinson, Sean Cosgrove.
A consolation goal from Oliver Eckersley was scant reward for the Under 8's Lightning who were beaten by Swinton Junior Lions. Following this Challenge Tournament tie Kyle Tandy was named Man of the Match.
Making a positive start in their Challenge Tournament match with Stretford Victoria Athletic were Beechy Under 8's Storm who should have been level if not winning at half time. A few silly mistakes plus a lack of concentration cost Beechy in the first period but the Storm played much better after the break. A great performance from Frankie Carter guaranteed him the Man of the Match Award. The Swinton Lions keeper was in great form making numerous top-class saves but he was beaten on one occasion when Riley Haney scored the Storm's only goal.
Neighbours Moorside Rangers Blue were the Under 7's Storm's opponents in the Development Group Red Division. Defender Beck Baxter had a very good game but the Storm's Star Player Award went to goalkeeper Reuben Wardle.
