*Once again another spell of adverse weather played a major part in the postponement of several games in the Junior Section.

*Beechfield United Under 14's Storm booked their place in the next round of the Players Cup following a convincing 6-2 away win in Round Two over Chorley Titans. On target with the goals for Beechy were Rian Haines (2) Michael Walsh, Joshua Kilfoyle, Saul Tagoe and Andrew Ackernley. Due to the bad weather the referee deemed the pitch unsafe and abandoned the match at half time but the result will stand.

*In awful weather conditions the Under 14's Hurricanes had home advantage in their Section C fixture with Bolton Lads Tigers. Playing against a howling wind the Hurricanes failed to adapt to the flow of the game and found themselves 4-0 down at half time. A superb goal by Man of the Match Dylan Walker who also scored from the penalty spot reduced the arrears but Bolton Lads added another goal to earn the visitors a 5-2 victory. Beechy Manager Kennedy Chirwa made the decision to end the game early because the freezing temperature had gradually posed a health risk to the players.

*At home to Ladybridge Eagles the Under 15's Lightning made a brilliant start in Section D when they took a deserved 2-0 lead but Beechy couldn't maintain their grip on the contest and producing a positive fightback Ladybridge took control and eventually won the match 5-2. Harry Backhouse and Jake Barrington scored the goals for Lightning who's Star Player was Matthew Corry.

*With an almost full squad available the Under 13's Hurricanes were in action at home to Bolton Lads Club Blue. Both teams were faced with some poor weather conditions but in this BBDJFL Section A fixture they still managed to produce an entertaining encounter. The Hurricanes were quickly on the attack and a superb pass by Henry Errington released Joshua Whithead who after playing a one-two with Oliver Nangle hammered the ball home but the goal was disallowed for offside against Joshua. Almost immediately Bolton Lads won possession and when Beechy failed to clear the ball from inside the area the visitors took the lead despite a brave effort from Hurricanes keeper Luca Mobey. Bolton Lads went 2-0 up when a clever ball over the top caught the Hurricanes defenders flat-footed and an explosive run down the left flank resulted in the visitors winger adding a confident finish.

Beechy reduced the arrears following some great football from Henry Errington who delivered a great cross to Thomas Robinson on the back post and Thomas blasted the ball home giving the keeper no chance. After a contentious throw-in on the right wing the Hurricanes equalised when some great approach play led to Henry Errington gaining possession in the area and he coolly set-up Joshua Whitehead who added an easy finish for 2-2. Bolton Lads responded well after losing their lead and during an attacking surge the visitors got their winning goal when a powerful strike from outside the area flew over the Beechy keeper. Owen Hogben was Man of the Match after an excellent performance. Result Beechy Hurricanes 2 v Bolton Lads 3.

* On a cold Sunday morning on a muddy pitch at Littleton Road Beechy Under 12's Tornadoes met Manchester Maccabi Warriors for their latest SDJFL 9v9 Division 2 fixture. The weather conditions plus a slippery playing surface meant a real a challenge for both teams but the Beechy Boys who continue to develop both physically and mentally produced a superb display to earn a 4-4 draw. In this exciting game Team Captain Joshua Beddows (2) and Stewart Kay (2) scored the goals and voted Tornadoes Man of the Match was Jack Lee who created a solid goalkeeping display.

*The Under 9's Hurricanes welcomed AFC Burnden Park to Beech Farm Playing Fields on another wet and windy Saturday morning and both team coaches and the referee were happy to let the game go ahead despite the poor conditions. Straight from the kick-off Beechy put pressure on their opponents but the visitors defence stayed strong as the Hurricanes created a few chances. Beechy finally made the breakthrough when Gino Fierro opened the scoring with a strike from outside the area but straight from the restart AFC Burnden Park had a chance to equalise. Kasope Alo and Myles Harris combined in a great move and it was the latter who was on target when he gave the Hurricanes a two goal lead. Getting the second half underway AFC Burnden Park made Beechy work hard to retain their lead and after the Hurricanes were let down by some slack defending the visitors reduced the arrears.

Forcing Beechy to deal with the added pressure AFC Burnden Park were rewarded with an equalising goal then as the Hurricanes struggled to retain their composure they conceded a third goal. Realising they were losing the game Beechy gradually regained control and got back level thanks to Kasope Alo who used his pace to go clear of the visitors defence and score a very good third Hurricanes goal. Both teams created some solid defending and a draw looked the possible outcome until with five minutes left to play Kasope Alo ran onto a through ball and netted the Hurricanes match winning goal. With time running out AFC Burnden Park tested Beechy's defensive qualities as they strived to score a late equaliser but the Hurricanes held firm to guarantee themselves a deserved victory.
