As per the FA's Guidelines Grassroots Football resumed following the four week lockdown which was a welcome relief for both Players and Managers within Beechfield United's Junior Section but the weather forced several postponements.

Resuming their fixtures in the Bolton Bury and District League were Beechfield United Under 15's Storm who were at home to Glodwick Dynamoes. When the teams met previously on Saturday 31st October it was Glodwick Dynamoes who came out on top via a 5-3 victory but Beechy gained revenge winning this Section C game 5-1. At Brookhouse Playing Fields Storm made a slow start before they gradually took control and Abraham Abiola Joel, Harry Patterson and Leo Barrett all went close to a goal before Leo was put through by a pass from Harry and opened the scoring with an easy finish. Then Storm endured a shaky ten minute spell just before half time but they managed to hold firm and retained their 1-0 lead at the break.

In the second half Beechy regained control and a good accurate pass from Leo Barrett found Jayden Okoli and he added the second goal. It soon became 3-0 after Jayden's pass sent Abraham Abiola Joel racing clear and Storm's leading goal scorer casually took the ball round the keeper and tapped it into the empty net. Glodwick Dynamoes were awarded a penalty and reduced the arrears from the resulting spot-kick but Beechy regained their three goal advantage when following a goalmouth scramble Aaron Pettigrew got the final touch to send the ball into the net. Harry Patterson scored the games best goal when he smashed the ball into the top corner of the net to make it 5-1 and complete the scoring. This was a great performance from the Beechy boys and named Man of the Match was Luke Bedforth who produced a commanding defensive display.

In the Salford and Districts League the high scoring Under 14's Lightning ended up on the wrong end of a 7-6 score line after their Division 2 away game with Astley and Tyldesley Titans. Goalscorers for Beechy were Cody Brady (4) Daniel Williams and Man of the Match Jake Barrington. Lightning will be keen to return to winning ways when they play Cadishead Town at home on 12/12/2020 at Brookhouse Playing Fields, Kick Off is 9.45am.

There was a welcome first win of the season for the Under 14's Typhoon after their friendly match against Culcheth Athletic Cobras. Because Typhoon were only able to field nine players their opponents sportingly agreed to play with the same number. Without any substitutes the eight outfield players put in a massive shift and were totally exhausted at the final whistle. Joseph Bothamley helped himself to a hat trick with the high point of the trio of goals a magnificent finish after a one on one with the keeper. Also on target for Typhoon were Ronan Mullen and Reece James who was stand-in keeper in the first half while Jamie Withington who produced a stunning save donned the goalies gloves in the second half. Beechy won the game 5-3 after a great all-round performance.

The Under 13's Hurricanes returned from the lockdown with a Section D home game against AFC Monton Dragons and in this Bolton Bury and District League fixture courtesy of a brace from Kane Wood the Hurricanes were 2-0 up at half time. But the Beechy boys who suffered a 7-3 defeat were reminded by Manager Kennedy Chirwa they need to earn wins and each match is different. Man of the Match was Mason Gowenlock for his consistency and effort and during a tepid second half display by the Hurricanes Kane Wood completed his hat trick.

Despite being the better team on the day and leading 2-0 early in the game Beechy Under 12's Hurricanes (9v9) lost 4-3 following their Division 1 encounter with neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow. On a small, tight pitch the match flowed swiftly from end to end and a fine all-round Hurricanes display should have earned them at least a draw. Owen Hogben, Alfie Rostron and Henry Errington scored the goals for Beechy.

De La Salle Rangers were the Under 10's Storm opponents in the Red Group when Beechy were back in action again in the Salford and Districts League. Thanks to Roman Sandaji with a hat trick and Harry Wallis with two goals Storm enjoyed a convincing victory on Saturday morning at Beech Farm Playing Fields. Beechy were ahead throughout the match with Reuben Wardle producing some very good saves and though De La Salle came into the game a little in the second half Storm kept control and fully deserved the win. Voted Best Player was defender Callum Norris.
