Tim McQueeney was Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior Team's four goal hero as United returned to winning ways with a 4-2 home win over West Didsbury that followed three successive defeats. With a few players unavailable including Max Leonard and Roy Owen playing in their first competitive match for the team were Issiaka Saba and Daniel Dearden. Making a blistering start Beechy quickly dominated possession and some of the football produced in the first twenty minutes was without doubt easily the best from this United team so far this season. Moving the ball from back to front with breathtaking speed and accuracy Beechy totally outplayed their opponents and a mazy run by Issiaka Saba created a shooting opportunity for Kyle Wray who's shot on target was blocked by a brave Didsbury defender. As United maintained their impressive start twice Daniel Eckersley got forward from his midfield position and he saw efforts from outside the area curl wide of the target.

A free kick to the visitors taken by their No11 forced Beechy keeper Chris Pollock into action and he confidently caught the ball when under pressure. United continued to fire on all cylinders and deservedly took the lead in the 10th minute when Wes Pierce combined with Scott Foulds and his superb ball over the last defender was instantly controlled by Tim McQueeney who added a brilliant finish. West Didsbury created two decent counter-attacks and long range efforts from their No5 and No10 missed the target but the visitors soon had to deal with added heavy pressure as United produced more dynamic attacking soccer. A few easy chances were wasted before United went 2-0 up after nineteen minutes via Tim McQueeney's close range finish following an excellent move involving Scott Foulds and Adrian Perez. Somehow West Didsbury survived another powerful attacking surge from Beechy and slowly the visitors forced more defensive work from United's back four of Kyle Walton, Adrian Perez, Matthew Swift and Kyle Wray.

A top-class save by Chris Pollock foiled an attempt to score by Didsbury's No11 and when the ball rolled across the area Matthew Swift cleared it out of the danger zone. But in the 25th minute West Didsbury did reduce the arrears courtesy of their No10 who was allowed to advance unchallenged through the central area of the pitch and produce an accurate low finish. Facing another spell of pressure United appeared to relax their grip on this Division 1 contest and briefly Chris Pollock became the busiest of the two keepers. Issiaka Saba displayed more terrific footwork with the ball and after casually ghosting past three opponents he neatly set-up Tim McQueeney but his first time effort just missed the target. After confidently dealing with some strong Didsbury counter-attacking play Beechy added their third goal in the 43rd minute. Daniel Eckersley began the move with a brilliant perfectly weighted pass to Scott Foulds and his pinpoint cross into the area was met by Tim McQueeney and United's star striker was rewarded with his hat-trick via a neat and tidy finish.

Making a lively start to the second half West Didsbury forced some crucial defending from Beechy who's offside tactic certainly paid dividends. Twice in quick succession United were denied further goals when fierce shots from Wes Pierce and Adrian Perez rattled the crossbar. On fifty four minutes West Didsbury's best player their No10 made it 3-2 when he supplied a brilliant side footed finish following a four man move down the left flank. The visitors stepped up a gear and there were clear cut chances for Didsbury's No11 and No9 who fired the ball straight at Chris Pollock from ten yards. Beechy were happy to soak up the pressure and on one occasion West Didsbury's appeal that the ball had crossed the goal line was waved away by the female referee. Substitute Adam Boakes replaced Kyle Wray at left back and he was soon in defensive action alongside Matthew Swift with both players making vital headed clearances.

The visitors forced a series of corners as they threatened to score an equalising goal and against the run of play United secured the victory in the 81st minute. The ball was worked down the right wing and after Adrian Perez won possession he neatly played it onto Tim McQueeney who hit it hard and low and following a slight misjudgement by the Didsbury keeper Tim celebrated a personal milestone with his and United's fourth goal. Daniel Dearden gave an highly impressive display when he was introduced as another second half substitute. This was a great all-round performance from United who are now back in the Division 1 title race.
