- Junior Section Match Details 11th December 2021
Just three games went ahead in the Junior Section on Saturday 11th December 2021 after more wet weather resulted in a large number of waterlogged pitches.
*At home for the second successive Saturday were Beechy U/13's Hurricanes who's opponents in this Section A fixture were Hindley Juniors. In the Bolton Bury and District League the Hurricanes made a bright start and putting early pressure on the visitors took the lead. Excellent work by Henry Errington set-up Alfie Rostron who curled the ball under the Hindley keeper into the bottom corner of the net from just outside the area. The goal boosted the Hurricanes confidence and two minutes later Beechy were rewarded with a second goal after a move down the right wing resulted in Taylor Hales-Cummins unmarked in the area and he hammered the ball home from close range. After making a triple substitution the Hurricanes led 3-0 via a brilliant goal from Alfie Rostron who collected the ball wide on the left wing and bent it into the bottom corner giving the keeper absolutely no chance.
Following a decent finish from the edge of the area Hindley Juniors reduced the arrears when Beechy looked slightly disorganised. Owen Hogben suffered a shoulder injury after making a brilliant last-ditch tackle and had to leave the pitch. More confusion in the Hurricanes defence resulted in a rash challenge and from a well executed direct free kick Hindley Juniors were back in the game at 3-2. The Hurricanes were soon on the attack in the second half and after regaining possession Oliver Nangle released Henry Errington who cleverly delivered a great pass to the coolest player on the pitch Joshua Whitehead and he drilled the ball into the bottom corner of the net. But Hindley Juniors responded and made it 4-3 after another free kick awarded for a harsh looking handball decision.
Back came the Hurricanes and following a brave challenge by Thomas Robinson the ball was controlled by Oliver Hall and displaying great skill beat the visitors last defender and hammered the ball beyond the keeper for Beechy's fifth goal. After soaking up a period of pressure the Hurricanes launched a swift counter-attack and involved in the move was Daniel Robinson who sent a brilliant through ball onto Oliver Hall and he completed the scoring via another superb accurate finish. Result: Hurricanes 6 v Hindley Juniors 3
*The Under 9's Tornadoes switched their Salford and District League game against Old Trafford Juniors to their opponents ground. In a close fought contest play moved rapidly from end to end but despite creating plenty of chances the Tornadoes lost the match. Via the counter-attack Beechy produced some great football as they battled hard from start to finish and voted Man of the Match for a solid and composed defensive display was Tyler Ackernley. The Tornadoes consolation goal was scored by Archie Charles.
*Beechy Under 15's Typhoon lost their Bolton Bury and District League Section D home game with Cultheth Athletic Scorpions after playing most of the match with only ten players.
