- Junior Section Match Details 16th Dec 2017.
Once again a large percentage of games involving teams within Beechfield United Junior Section fell victim to the adverse weather but three mini-soccer teams managed to fulfil their fixtures.
Beechy Under 8's Tornadoes played Bury Amateurs on a 3G Astroturf Pitch at Salford Sports Village but lost a high scoring game that produced an amazing twenty goals. In the Development Group Red Division Beechy twice held the lead early in the match but they found themselves trailing by three goals at half time. During the second half the Tornadoes went further behind mainly due to conceding some soft goals. However the longer the game went on the Beechy boys grew in confidence with every player producing a totally committed display. Man of the Match Stewart Kay ended the game with five goals while there was a hat trick for Jack McMinn.
Creating an excellent all-round performance were the Under 9's Tornadoes who were away to Parkwyddn Predators in the Challenge Tournament. Matty Cox, Anthony Hughes and Man of the Match Tom Robinson scored the goals for the Tornadoes who lost what turned out to be a great game of mini-soccer.
Goals by Tanatswa Chirwa and Lewis Royle plus an own goal made up the Under 10's Hurricanes tally in their Development Group Green Division away fixture with Barr Hill Cubs. William Schofield and Lloyd Hiles shared the Man of the Match Award.
