POSTED: December 20 2023 14:47:23 By Keith Long - In-Form Hurricanes Secure Another Deserved Victory

On a cold but sunny Saturday morning Beechy Under 15's HURRICANES played their final Salford and Districts Junior League game of 2023.

*In Division 1 Beechy met Stockport Villa at home and made it three games unbeaten following a 4-2 victory. The HURRICANES opened the scoring when Luca Humphries was fouled deep in the visitors half and from the free kick taken by Alfie Rostron a Villa defender sliced the ball into his own net. Stockport Villa equalised after their striker ran onto a long ball sent forward and beat the Beechy keeper and defender before slotting it into an empty net. Enjoying a better spell of control and possession the visitors took the lead following a well worked move and neat finish. The Hurricanes produced a positive response and made it 2-2 when Rafael Djacy forced a good save from the Stockport keeper but the ball was only half cleared and Rafael sent it back into the area where Henry Errington was waiting to fire it into the net. (HT 2-2) A bizarre own goal gifted the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead and also in the second half after a blatant foul on Jacob Revell the offending Stockport player received a yellow card but the Villa coach went onto the pitch to dispute the referees decision. Beechy were guaranteed the victory and third place in the league table when keeper Max Gill-Williams delivered a long ball forward to Man of the Match Owen Hogben and he superbly set-up Alfie Rostron who completed the scoring with a top-class finish.
