- Match Details December 19th 2015
With no real change in the weather a total of sixteen postponed games were added to Beechfield United’s Junior Section unplayed fixtures list. But three teams were in action and once again those games in the Salford and Districts League were all played on 3G Astroturf Pitches.
At Burnden Park Sports Complex the Under 9’s Hurricanes were away to Woodbank JFC in the Development Group Purple Division. Producing a dominant display Beechy created moments of top-class soccer and were rewarded with eight very good goals. On target were Reilly Happy, James Taylor, Dominic Roaden, Ben Morris, Oliver Coles, Georgi Georgiev and Man of the Match Charlie French.
The Under 9’s Typhoon played their final match of 2015 against neighbours Moorside Rangers Green. In an excellent all-round performance Sonny O’Brien added to his growing list of spectacular free kicks while defender and Man of the Match Freddie Latham had a great game. But overall every Beechy player played well in this cup tie that took place at Moorside High School. There was a penalty shoot-out following the match and unfortunately Peter Ellis the Typhoon’s goalkeeper sustained a buckle fracture of the wrist when he saved one of the spot-kicks.
Playing at the JJB Soccer Dome were the Under 7’s Tornadoes who shared twelve goals with Swinton Junior Jaguars. Goalscorers for the Tornadoes in this Development Group Yellow encounter were George Rowbotham, Fletcher Jackson, Blake Kerrigan and Harry Jones. The Man of the Match Award voted for by the players parents was shared between George Rowbotham and Reece Cartwright.
