A meeting with across the field rivals Moorside Rangers for the Thunder boys today. After a few previous encounters the Thunder boys knew they were in for a challenge despite it being a friendly fixture. The game started well for Thunder with some good offensive passes being fired down the flanks from Finley and Elliot who were looking quickly off the mark. José began to be a constant menace around the goal area for Moorside and this left some gaps for Che to explore where he showed his quick feet dazzling the Moorside defence. With Thunder on the attacking foot, a great direct pass from Finley to Che and then onto the prowling José who finished nicely for a well worked goal to take the lead. Thunder would find a second shortly after with some good passing again from Finley to José who found Che in space leading to a nice slotted finish. Thunder with a swagger in there step got a little complacent and gave Moorside the opportunity to get back into the game with 2 quickfire goals before the halftime break.
The second half started the same as the first with Thunder on the attacking front, Ralph and Angelo linking up with some good spells of play and Gio making some important interceptions to keep Moorside at bay. With both teams pushing for the winner both keeper's would come to the saviour and bobby made some great stops to keep the game level. Ralph began to find some pockets of space and it was from his well worked dribble in and pass in towards José who finished nicely with a left footed shot into the top corner. A competitive game in the end with Thunder making it harder than it should've been but still managing the win in the end.
Man of the Match - Finley who made some excellent direct passes throughout the game leading to two of Thunder's goals and lightning run's down the flanks causing Moorside problems throughout the match ⚡.
