- Junior Section Match Details 28th January 2017
A fairly evenly balanced game between Beechfield United Under 14's Tornadoes and Bolton County Bullets was definitely an action packed affair. This Bolton Bury and District League Section B fixture was littered with goals galore and at the final whistle the teams shared a 5-5 score line. Beechy committed their usual sin by conceding the opening goal but responded immediately when Jeanny Le Blanc equalised straight from the kick-off. A minute later with his first goal for the team Joe Bardsley put the Tornadoes 2-1 up from the penalty spot. Bolton County got back level but with the last kick of the first half Beechy regained the lead courtesy of a smart finish from Joe Horrocks. The second half was just as exciting and eager to go on all-out attack United were caught napping and Bolton County took the opportunity to even the score to 3-3. Quickly finding a better rhythm the Tornadoes edged ahead again after Jeanny Le Blanc produced a powerful run down the right flank and hammered the ball past the keeper. Beechy kept the pressure on their opponents and had at least three clear cut chances to score a fifth goal but once again United were pegged back when Bolton County made it 4-4. Battling to the end the Tornadoes thought they had secured victory when during a goalmouth scramble Leighton White fired the ball home from close range. But just seconds before the final whistle Beechy were caught off guard and Bolton County snatched a dramatic equaliser. Ellis Taylor who worked like a Trojan throughout the game was the Tornadoes Man of the Match.
Beechfield United Under 12's Thunder (9v9) were away to Kersal FC in a Friendly Match at Salford Sports Village. Playing on the 3G Astroturf Pitch Thunder started on a positive note and took an early lead. It was an excellent goal following great play by Taonga Mututa and an accomplished finish from Jake Glass. Beechy were unlucky when they had a perfectly good goal disallowed by a tight offside decision. After that moment the tide turned in Kersal FC's favour when they were gifted three soft goals that included an own goal. Beechy had played well throughout the contest but in the end it was those mistakes that gave Kersal FC a comfortable 4-1 victory. Thunders Man of the Match was Jacob Lacey.
In their Friendly Match away at Moorside Rangers Green the Under 10's Typhoon produced an out of character display. This was Beechy's first game of 2017 and they lost this 7v7 encounter that included seven goals. Jamie Withington found his goalscoring touch with a brace and following an all-action performance Joseph Bothamley received the Best Player Award.
Alfie Lacey and Jack McMinn scored the goals for the Under 7's Tornadoes who played AFC Monton Lions. This Friendly Match provided a valuable test for the Beechy lads against their opponents from a higher Division in the Salford and District Football League. Collecting the Star Player Award was Daire Cox.
