- Junior Section Match Details 3rd February 2018
Once again the adverse weather conditions played havoc with the fixtures allocated to Beechfield United's Junior Section teams. Only six of nineteen scheduled games were played with a couple of teams switching their matches to Astroturf pitches.
Producing a superb all-round performance in the Salford and District League were Beechfield United Under 16's Storm who moved up to second place in the Division 1 table after a brilliant 8-2 away victory over current leaders Urmston Town Ravens. In their last seven league and cup games Beechy have scored forty one goals and on target against Urmston Ravens were Mike Waklasi (4) (who netted all his goals in the second half) Joe Cox, Kaiden Craven, Tom Gorton and Callum Lomax. Man of the Match was Aaron Gartley who bossed the midfield.
In the Development Group Blue Division the Under 11's Typhoon (9v9) battled hard against the rain and a muddy pitch in their away game at Stretford Victoria. After going two goals down Beechy fought back and reduced the arrears thanks to Cole Winstanley then several good chances were squandered that should have given the Typhoon the lead. Tiredness crept in during the second half and with no substitutes available Beechy couldn't avoid conceding another goal. A display of heart and courage epitomised by Harley Bentley earned him the Man of the Match award.
For their latest Development Group Green Division fixture the Under 10's Hurricanes travelled to play Ladybridge Lions. On their opponents Astroturf pitch Beechy's only consolation from the game was a solo goal scored by Lewis Royle.
Sam Rowbottom with his fourth goal in seven days was on target for Beechy Under 10's Tornadoes in their Development Group Red Division away game with Bury Amateurs. Chosen as the teams Best Player was Aiden Lawton.
At Salford Sports Village the Under 9's Hurricanes made it three wins from their last four games following their victory over De La Salle Devils. In the Development Group Yellow Division Man of the Match Daniel Robinson scored two goals plus there was a goal apiece for Alfie Latham and Oliver Hall.
Also in action at Salford Sports Village were the Under 8's Tornadoes who met AFC Monton Lions in the Development Group Red Division. Some enterprising play from both teams produced an action packed game that included ten goals. Stewart Kay netted both goals for the Tornadoes who's Man of the Match award went to George Wadeson.
