Playing their first match of 2017 were Beechfield United Under 17's who quickly found the winning formula. Away to Flixton Juniors in the Youth Bundesliga Division Beechy enjoyed an emphatic 5-0 win. Goals from Tom Walker, Charlie Hilton and Callun Frier who hammered the ball past the keeper from 30 yards put United 3-0 up at the break. Tom Walker got his second goal of the game and Ryan Curran completed the scoring but with more chances on offer Beechy could easily have hit double figures. Man of the Match was Patrick Dennison who produced an excellent display in midfield.

In the Bolton Bury and District League Beechfield United Under 16's Tornadoes went back to the top of the Section C table following their home game with Hindley Juniors. Leading 5-2 at half time Beechy totally dominated the second period and at the final whistle were celebrating an emphatic 13-3 victory. The goals were shared between Joe Furlong, Harry Cottrill, Charlie James and Lucas Morgan.

At Stott Lane the Under 16's Predators met Broadheath Central Piranhas in the semi-final of the league cup. Despite having home advantage Beechy failed to make it into the final after suffering a 1-0 defeat. Broadheath's match winning goal arrived in the first half but the Predators had enough chances to score several goals and win the tie. Ethan Haynes was voted Man of the Match.

Another Beechy team playing their first match this year were the Under 13's Tornadoes. In this Salford and District League Division 1 game Beechy enjoyed 90% of the ball against Moorside Rangers Yellow but they had to settle for a 2-2 draw. On target with the goals were Fernlea Davies and Callum Lowe and named Man of the Match was Thomas Anderson.

A fine all-round performance by the Under 13's Storm went unrewarded after their Section A fixture against FC Strikerz Athleticos. The Storm took a 1-0 lead then somehow found themselves 3-1 down but fought back to make it 3-2. In the last fifteen minutes Beechy put heavy pressure on their opponents and were unlucky not to force at least a draw. George Moorhouse was nominated Best Player and goalscorers for the Storm were Jacob Whitehead and Bobby Anderson.

Beechy Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) met Moston Stripes in a Friendly Match and came out on top thanks to a 4-3 victory. Sam Jones scored two goals including a superbly executed free kick and also helping himself two a couple of goals was Ronan Courtney. Man of the Match was Max Chidgey following a solid central midfield performance.

For their Division 2 fixture Beechy Under 12's Thunder (9v9) travelled to play Barr Hill Hearts and produced a great first half display which resulted in United taking a 2-0 lead. Relaxing their grip on the game Thunder gave Barr Hill the opportunity to score two goals but Beechy responded and led 3-2 at half time. Into the second half and Barr Hill found an equaliser then Beechy's lack of discipline gifted Barr Hill a 6-3 lead. During a late attacking surge Thunder made the score line look more respectable via a fourth goal. Prince Idusuyi (3) and Jake Glass got the goals and the Man of the Match Award went to keeper James Quinn-Allcock who made numerous great saves.

Suffering a rare defeat were the Under 12's Storm (9v9) who faced Barr Hill Aces in the Challenge Cup. A small pitch hampered United's style of play and Barr Hill eventually won the match 3-2. Damion Broughton and Samuel Oludoyi fired in the goals and Alex Vanden was Man of the Match.

Back in action in the Salford and District League were the Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) who had a Development Group Blue Division home game against Swinton Tigers. The match was a close affair with Beechy ending up on the losing side by the odd goal in three. Charlie Mulvenna netted United's consolation goal and Oliver Lomas picked up the Best Player Award.

In their Development Group Red home fixture with Del La Salle the Under 11's Storm held a two goal lead at the interval and keeping control eventually secured a comfortable victory. It was a busy weekend in the Mini-Soccer Section with ten of United's registered teams in action. The Under 10's Hurricanes who are members of the Bolton Bury and District League met Howfen Blues in the Dragons Division. Goals by Harley Mullen, Josh Clough, Tom Worthington plus an own goal made up the Hurricanes four goal tally. Sharing the Man of the Match Award were Josh and Tom.

On Sunday morning the Under 10's Lightning entertained South Manchester FC in the Development Group Green Division. This was Beechy's first official game since mid December 2016 and the lack of match practice was the key to United's performance. Charlie Harris scored Lightning's only goal and Joshua Harris collected the Star Player Award.

Away to Old Trafford JFC for a Challenge Tournament tie the Under 10's Typhoon players knew they needed a good start against tough opposition. Unfortunately Beechy struggled in the early stages but they worked hard showing total commitment. Goalkeeper Peter Ellis, Joseph Bothamley, Milonga Mututa and Man of the Match Jamie Withington were in good form and Cole Winstanley netted a consolation goal for the Typhoon.

Producing their best performance so far this season were Beechy Under 10's Storm. At home to Salford FC Juniors United went a goal down but creating lots of chances equalised via a brilliant volley by Man of the Match Harry Backhouse. The Storm added a second goal courtesy of Freddie Jackson then Harry Backhouse with a flying header guaranteed United a fully deserved victory.

Both Under 9's teams were involved in Challenge Tournament fixtures. In their away game at Davyhulme Park JFC Beechy Under 9's Storm were a goal up at half time through Joshua Kilfoyle. Always the better team throughout the second half United made sure of victory with goal number two thanks to Man of the Match James Cadwalader.

The Under 9's Tornadoes played Monton FC Sports at Beech Farm and made an impressive start with some crisp passing and good movement off the ball and opened the scoring via Oliver Percival. Attacks from Monton were few and far between but when the visitors did threaten to grab an equalising goal the Tornadoes defensive partnership of Aiden Lawton and Ashley Tonge remained rock solid. Joel Thorndyke was involved in the move that resulted in United's second goal when the Monton keeper couldn't hold Joel's effort on target and Oliver Percival netted the rebound. The Tornadoes keeper Freddie Wardle was rarely tested but showed a safe pair of hands when forced into action. The pattern of play was much the same during the second period with Monton forced to produce more excellent defending. Finley Fairhurst was on target with the Tornadoes third goal following a scramble inside the area. Edward Hughes was introduced into midfield and was soon involved in the action forcing the team forward more. Joel Thorndyke added a fourth goal for Beechy then Ellis O'Brien-Walsh was unlucky after a brilliant piece of skill when he saw his shot on the turn pushed onto the post by the Monton keeper. Tanatswa Chirwa came close to a goal following a corner just before defender Owen Hogben who had a great game hit the post with a low drive. United's fifth goal was the most enjoyable when Anthony Brophy collected the ball in the area and powered his way downfield past several Monton players to score a superb goal. Anthony will leaving the team soon to start a new life in Rochdale and both Team Manager Colin Duff and all the other players wish Anthony and his family all the very best for the future.

A first-class display by the Under 8's Tornadoes was rewarded with a fully deserved victory. Goalkeeper George Rowbotham kept a clean sheet and was named Man of the Match. There was a hat trick for Ethan Harris, Anthony Hughes got two goals and a goal from Oliver Riva made up the Tornadoes tally.

The Development Group games involving United's Under 7's teams produced a glut of goals. Beechy Under 7's Storm switched their home game to Moorside Rangers Astroturf Pitch and started the match well with three goals within the first ten minutes. Ronnie Thompson opened the scoring via a cracking strike from just outside the area, the ball going into the net off the post. Noel Thorndyke got the second goal after a solo run easily going past two defenders before slotting the ball past the keeper. Goal number three came from Harry Whitter who's effort from the halfway line found its way into the bottom corner of the net. But Beechy lost their concentration and allowing Moorside Rangers back into the match conceded three goals before half time. Following a encouraging team talk at the break the Storm began the second half displaying renewed confidence and Ronnie Thompson scored his second goal of the contest with a great half volley. Then Logan Holland got United's fifth goal with a Messi-Esque piece of play when he robbed an opponent of the ball in his own half, dribbled past several other Moorside players and calmly fired it past the keeper. A few seconds later Man of the Match Ronnie Thompson completed a magnificent game with hat trick via a brilliant finish. But once again Beechy relaxed their grip on the game and Rangers were gifted two goals but United were able to hang on for a deserved win.

There were goals galore in the Under 7's Tornadoes versus Winton JFC Development Group Yellow encounter. Alfie Lacey was the headline maker courtesy of a triple hat trick, Daire Cox and Jack McMinn were on target with two goals apiece plus one each for Flinn Rogers and Logan McFeely who scored his first ever goal for the club.
