- Junior Section Match Details 2nd February 2019
Beechfield United Under 10's Hurricanes were the only Junior Section team in action on a cold and frosty Saturday morning. Beechy were at home to Barr Hill Clubs but this Salford and Districts League Blue Group fixture was switched to Manor 5's Kearsley after the Hurricanes pitch at Beech Farm was deemed unplayable. Finally Beechy had a full squad available for this game against a recently promoted and strengthened Barr Hill outfit who made a better start than the Hurricanes as they produced some great passing moves in the central area of the pitch. Beechy were forced to do some vital defending and conceded a couple of goals in the opening ten minutes. Chances were created by the Hurricanes but they were denied several times by an in-form Barr Hill keeper who made some fantastic saves.
Barr Hill added a third goal but Beechy managed to reduce the arrears before half time and after a motivational team talk and a change of formation the Hurricanes came out of the blocks and were rewarded with an early goal to put pressure on their opponents. The Clubs were quick to respond and regained their two goal advantage but the Hurricanes didn't panic and showing great determination and desire to win the game scored three more goals that included a last minute winner from Henry Errington. Beechy's other goals came via Alfie Rostron, Jamie Maher and Oliver Hall and named as the Hurricanes Man of the Match was Oliver Williams.
Squad for the game was: Daniel Robinson, Dillan Caldwell, Jamie Maher, Joshua Whitehead, Oliver Hall, Oliver Williams, Oliver Dalton-Bunker, Henry Errington, Alfie Rostron, Fabio Figueredo, Amaan Khan.
