- U/7's Storm Match Report 3rd February 2024
Beechfield United U7s Storm 6-1 Deans Youth U7s
Beechfield Storm took their revised group season tally to 24 goals in 4 games in a game totally dominated by Beechy.
First half started in scrappy fashion with Beechy getting the best of it with some good passing and movement. A couple of chances going wide from Henry and James in the opening period though it didn’t take long for the deadlock to be broken with some intricate passing in the box between Henry and James with the ball falling to Beechys red hot marksman James poking the ball in.
With Beechy really starting to enjoy themselves and being well marshalled by George again some good work from Beechy resulted in Henry being put through the left of the box and finishing well.
Marshalled well by George who led imperiously from the players time and space to dictate the game (as well as giving Alfie time in goal!) which resulted in another team goal which was well finished.
Following changes Ralph came on to play in midfield with Alfie joining the defence with George in goal - the team play, down the wings hadn’t changed though following industrious work by Ralph who cut in from the right, his shot agonisingly hitting the post with James marauding forward, competed with the defender though showed he wanted it more.
Half time at 4-0 the Beechy Storm came on in the second half playing through rather than the wing that worked so effectively - we saw James and Henry finish superbly from similar situations just inside the box - James making it a hat trick and could’ve had 4 with a missed penalty having been fouled in the box. In between Storm conceded with a great finish by Deans though was created by a mix up with subs coming on with the ref playing on. Could’ve been more with Alfie unfortunate to not capitalise on a great cross and through ball on two separate occasions - Ralph again had also a great chance created by himself taking on 2 players though in the vital moment had a heavy touch.
Strong follow up by Beechfield Storm playing again some great football with the oppositions even providing praise for the play! Up the Beechy!
MOTM:
James - followed the game plan from start to finish, following feedback adjusted his game to benefit the team, went in goal making a couple of incisive saves and taking his tally to 12 in 4 games.
