- Moral Boosting Victory For U/17's Storm
Following a couple of disappointing results Beechy Under 17's STORM travelled to Leigh Sports Village for their away game with Hindley Green Vipers and earned themselves a 4-2 victory.
*After an hard fought opening twenty minutes Hindley Vipers took the lead when an accurate through ball opened up the Beechy defence and was slotted home by a hosts forward. Storm bounced straight back and after forcing a series of corners equalised when Aaron Cardall scored with a close range finish. The Vipers regained the lead after poor Beechy defending allowed a cross to be tapped into the net at the far post but once again Storm responded and made it 2-2 when top scorer Evan Hodson-Griffiths rifled the ball beyond the keeper.
After they regrouped at half time Beechy were soon on the attack in the second half and went 3-2 up when Bradley Oliver latched onto a through pass and casually lifted the ball over the onrusing keeper. Beechy's fourth goal which guaranteed the victory came via Josh Everall who had an easy close range finish and the three points gained kept Storm on top of the Section B table. Man of the Match was Aaron Cardall for a brilliant display in both defence and attack.
