A strong gusty wind and heavy rain greeted the players prior to this Greater Manchester Womens League Division 1 fixture and both teams deserve a huge amount of praise for braving the elements. Beechy opened the scoring in the 2nd minute via a sidefooted finish from Becky Gregory who made it 2-0 with a close range header after a corner taken by Stacy Partridge. Virtually a spectator throughout the game Beechy keeper Shauna Smith was rarely in action despite Heyside creating a few decent counter-attacks.
Beechy's third goal came courtesy of Aimee Greenwood and as the weather conditions deterioated Aimee was on target again when she added the fourth goal after being set-up by Sophie Addison. The chances to add more goals were always on offer and Aimee Armsden made it 5-0 following a great piece of individual skill. A similar pattern quickly developed in the second half as Beechy continued to dominated possession and Player of the Match Stacy Partridge netted goal number six.
In quick succession Aimee Armsden scored the seventh, eighth and ninth goal and remaining the busiest player on the pitch the Heyside keeper was beaten again when Aimee Armsden got her fifth goal from the penalty spot. Aimee Greenwood completed her hat-trick following an inch perfect pass from Monique Pollard then Becky Topping supplied a decisive finish for the twelfth goal. Stacy Partridge got her second goal of the game before Becky Topping wrapped up the scoring.
