In the Manchester Youth Super League Beechfield United Under 11's Lightning continued their recent run of fine form with victory over B Pro Raiders.

*Despite making a good start in this game Lightning found themselves a goal down but the Beechy Boys made a positive reply. After forcing a mistake from a Raiders defender Austin Fillingham powered the ball into the roof of the net for Lightning's equaliser. Minutes later Austin scored again and on this occasion he sent a long range effort flying over the stranded keeper. Half time arrived and Beechy's players were full of confidence and eager to start the second half. Lightning didn't have to wait long their next goal when Man of the Match Austin Fillingham completed his hat-trick with another powerful shot from outside the box. Beechy's fourth goal came courtesy of Henry Dunn who via a fantastic low shot fired the ball into the bottom corner of the net. B Pro Raiders got their second goal before Lightning were rewarded with goal number five after Junior Davies reacted the fastest in the box and tapped the ball into the net. A third goal for Raiders completed the scoring but it didn't take the gloss off this great Beechy performance and the victory that included a first hat-trick for the club and Austin Fillingham.

*Also in action in the Manchester Youth Super League were the Under 10's THUNDER who's opponents were Strike JFC Black. At the league's Central Venue this Division 2 game was action packed and at the final whistle the teams shared ten goals. On target for Thunder were Sonny Phillips who was rewarded with a hat-trick and Edan McHugh who scored the other two goals.

*At Beech Farm Playing Fields the Under 8's TORNADOES met neighbours Moorside Rangers Red in the Supplementary Tournament and were rewarded with an high scoring victory. For a few weeks the Team Coaches have been working on some confidence hurdles and these were finally overcome and the Beechy players loved the challenge. During the cup tie the Tornadoes produced some superb defending, positioning, and passing plus movement off the ball and the finest finishing ever seen. The whole team were fantastic and on target with the goals for Beechy were Man of the Match Brayden Gilligan and Billy Boyd.

*The Under 9's THUNDER continued their Supplementary Tournament campaign with a home game against Old Trafford Diamonds. After some recent fast starts in games it was a surprise that Thunder made a slow start in this game. Old Trafford took the lead but Beechy responded and Antonio Embalo scored their equaliser though immediately Thunder conceded a second goal. But once Tiffany Kandemri equalised from close range the rest of the tie became one way traffic and a long range free kick and a penalty from Harrison Spencer gave Beechy a commanding lead at half time. In the second half Chase Sixsmith continued his impressive goalscoring run when he netted a brace not long after the restart. Old Trafford got a third goal late in the game but Player of the Match Tiffany Kandemri cancelled out that goal when she completed the scoring with Thunder's seventh goal. Thunder's next game against Salford Storm Tornadoes will decide the group winners and a place in the final.

*Away to Swinton Panthers the Under 15's TORNADOES earned themselves a 3-0 victory following a Supplementary Cup game. All three Beechy goals came in the first half and getting the ball rolling was Oscar Mather who produced a brilliant piece of skill in the box before firing the ball home. Josh Beddows made it 2-0 with a low accurate finish into the corner of the net and Jayden Hoye added the third goal when he stole the ball off a Panthers defender and supplied a clinical finish from just outside the area.

*Getting back to winning ways were Beechy Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) who were at home against Salford Storm Tornadoes in the Supplementary Tournament. Thanks to goals from Archie Charles (2) and Blake Salmon plus assists by George Barlow and Max Blood Beechy won the tie 3-1. There were three Man of the Match awards chosen by the Team Officials: Ryan Pugh gave his award to Blake Salmon, Mark Chambers selected Harvey Pugh and Chris Heighway voted for George Barlow.

*In the Under 10's Supplementary Tournament Beechy Storm faced AFC Monton Mad Dogs at home. Storm's squad for the game was Seth Barber, Alfie Heighway, Bobby Lowe, Kade Doyle, Harry Heathcote-Clare, Jacob Foster, Oscar Pugh, Oscar Berry, Harry Chambers, Issac Hargreaves and George Savage. Beechy lost the tie while on target with both consolation goals was Seth Barber.

*Beechy Under 16's THUNDER were looking to go five games unbeaten in the East Manchester Junior League when they met Failsworth Dynamos away. This Division 3 game kicked-off in blustery conditions and it was the hosts who grabbed the lead when a Failsworrth striker took advantage of a poor clearance. Following another scuffed clearance the Dynamos were gifted an easy two goal advantage and Beechy faced a tough challenge when the home side went 3-0 up. Thunder squandered a number of excellent chances during a better period of attacking play but Beechy found themselves four goals down in a dismal first half. In the opening minutes of the second half Thunder reduced the arrears after a great ball forward from Joshua Whitehead was won by Rafael Djacy who produced a powerful run before hammering the ball home.

Minutes later Beechy were rewarded with a second goal when keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker cleared the ball upfield and Rudolf Yeboah made a brilliant run down the left wing before delivering a great cross and Rafael Djacy added the finish. The Failsworth keeper made a great save following a penalty kick before the hosts scored again against the run of play to go 5-2 up. But Thunder responded superbly and Pedro Do Santos produced the highlight of the game when he curled the ball over the keeper from 30 yards for Beechy's third goal. A fourth goal for Thunder created a grandstand finish when a great effort by Zach Davies forced a superb save from the hosts keeper but Zach Bentham reacted the quickest and from the rebound he fired the ball into the net. Despite a late free kick and a goalmouth scramble Beechy couldn't get a fifth goal to force a draw. Result: Failsworth Dynamos 5 v Beechy Thunder 4.
