Beechfield United U'7s Storm 7-0 Parkwdynn Juniors Phoenix
Having had a disappointing performance to end the year U7 Storm returned in January with a bang.
Took the team a little bit of time at the beginning to warm up though a powerful run from defence by Alfie set the tone and it wasn’t long until a breakthrough with James poking a ball past the goal keeper following some confusion by the defenders.
The game poised Parkdwynn had 1-2 chances early on which Isaiah starting in goal saved excellently rushing out at the feet of the attackers with vital saves. Henry started to get on the ball to dictate things passing a ball through to James who ran on to make it 2.
James chasing his hat trick pushed the team forward though having seen multiple shots wide looked like it wasn’t going to be his day.. however Isiaiah again making a vital save before Alfie who went in goal making a similar save.
Coming back out in the second half Beechy really assumed control with Henry with the goal of the game smashing it into the bottom left corner from outside the box. James shortly followed up by scoring his hat-trick with a shot to the right of goal producing a spectacular dive a roll in the mud celebration. Ralph shortly after came close with Izzy nudging the ball into the box, Ralph showing some excellent dribbling skills to bamboozle the defender and agonisingly shot wide.
Charlie who had struggled to get into the game had been fouled in the box, unfortunately his penalty was saved though he then showed a fantastic mentality scoring 3 goals showing greats skills with all 3 in the box and finishing abilities.
Finally the clean sheet was preserved by sweeper keeper and hat-trick hero James with block towards the end though with a striker running clear and James out of position George with a heroic last stitch tackle to push the ball out of play.
Much better football throughout against a team Storm had previously drawn with
MOTM:
James - difficult decision though with an excellent all round performance James clinched it. A hat-trick, tireless running/defending, good passing and even a great save when he was in net means he takes it
