Urmston Meadowside Albion v Beechfield Utd U/7's Thunder
Thunder got back to winning ways with a comprehensive victory against Urmston. Starting the game strongly Thunder started to pass and move the ball quickly into the oppositions half and got their reward instantly with a great strike from Gideon James, putting Thunder one nil up after just two minutes. Straight from the kick off Thunder won the ball back and started to attack again and Gideon James was in the right place to slot his second goal of the match, this galvanised Thunder and from the kick off again started to play some very controlled and attacking football, the whole movement from the team creating space and some slick passing saw Ronnie Green get his first goal of the match, slotting home from a wide position with a great finish to get Thunders third, Beechfield knowing they were in control of the game in attack saw them create more chances and Aldo Gannon scored his first goal of the game just before half time. In the second half Urmston got their first chance of the match with a penalty which was slotted in and goalkeeper Raurie Brassington was very unlucky not to save as he got a touch on the ball but his distribution from the back for the whole game helped set up each attack with George Lawson calmly spraying passes from defence into the right areas and also creating attacks, Jesse Fletchers commitment to the cause didn't go unnoticed today, and by his teammates and was constantly winning the ball back and starting wave after wave in attack. With the score in favour of the away team Aldo Gannon got his second goal of the match again with some sharp passing from the whole team and shortly after kick off Ronnie Green got his second goal of the match. Urmston came back with a couple of goals of their own but this didn't stop Thunder and once again Ronnie Green got his hat trick with a fine finish in the top right hand corner, again from the kick off Thunder won the ball and just over the half way line an audacious strike from Aldo Gannon saw the ball go back in the net to the enjoyment of both teams and coaches, with the game nearly over Thunder had one last attack before the final whistle and again Aldo Gannon coming up with his fourth goal of the match, the game was played by both teams the right way and a great all round performance from Beechfield Special mentions to our trophy winners today Most improved George Lawson Parents players of the match Gideon James And player of the match Jesse Fletcher Fully deserved trophy winners today.
